These tributes are performed individually in concert for theaters, festivals, etc. or may be included as a special tribute set during a regular 3 set show.
JUNKYARD DAWGS was formed in late 2015 by former Southern Steel members ~ lead/slide guitarist Tom Napurano and lead vocalist Bill Hipple ~ along with keyboardist/vocalist Fred Lochner (formerly of Empire), bassist Paul Mann (ex-Shoresyde) and later adding guitarist Mike Abbs and drummer Ed Foxxe (formerly of 6 Gun Sound). In late 2022, Ed Foxxe left the band and fill-in drummer Robert "Bobby G" Gonnella (formerly of The Drift Band) permanently took over the drum seat. Mike has since left the band due to moving out of state but still makes the time and travels to occasionally gig with The Dawgs.
The band is based in Toms River and all members are New Jersey residents from the Ocean/Monmouth County area.
JUNKYARD DAWGS deep and diverse song catalog includes the music of Bob Seger, Molly Hatchet, 38 Special, Deep Purple, Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Doobie Brothers, ZZ Top, Blackfoot, Eric Clapton, Bad Company, and others, as well as spot-on tributes to The Allman Brothers Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
