From folk-rock to synth-pop, Kat and the Hurricane can do just about everything. Rising in the indie music scene, they've shared stages with the likes of Partner, Yam Haus, Apes of the State, RENT STRIKE, Telethon, and more! A departure from their 2017 album, Miles Away's, folk-rock sound, the band's second album, Libra, was released in February 2020. "Sorry That I'm Like This" is their latest single, released November 13, 2020. Self-deprecating, but fun, Sorry is the trio's most energetic song yet.

From folk-rock to synth-pop, Kat and the Hurricane can do just about everything. With their cutting lyrics and catchy hooks, singer-songwriters Kat Farnsworth and Benjamin Rose, along with drummer Alex Nelson can deliver a genre-bending live music performance of original indie tunes, all of which are guaranteed to make you sad in the best possible way.
The trio has a discography of two original EP's, a recently released single (as part of an upcoming 2021 EP release), and plenty more unreleased original material to play -- plenty for a short intimate set, or a 2-3 hour gig. They can also play some covers upon request.
Kat, Alex, & Ben have played a wide variety of gigs and are committed to being timely, professional, and polished musicians. In addition to bringing the tunes (with a side of feels, of course), KatH can bring their own mics/PA system or stage lighting rig upon request.
Kat and the Hurricane is a genre- and gender-bending synth-rock project from Madison, Wisconsin. Lead singer/guitarist Kat Farnsworth (she/her/hers), keyboardist Benjamin Coakley (they/them/theirs), and drummer Alex Nelson (they/them/theirs) deliver a unique blend of pop and haunting indie rock - which they dub as "Sad Lesbian Music."
