Kathryn is regular at Laugh Factory, Zanies, Second City, and Comedy Bar in Chicago and has performed at clubs all over the country, including The Comedy Cellar in NYC. She also works corporate events, birthday parties, rooftops, and produces her own sold-out shows and private residence comedy hours around the city.
Kathryn offers standup, customized roasts and toasts, curated lineups if you’d like help producing, e.g. putting the whole thing together, and she can also work clean (but doesn't always if you want to let loose).
I’ve seen Kathryn several times and her obvious strength is that she is a smart comic. She can read and dissect a room and tailor her jokes accordingly. She’s “thoughtful funny,” meaning that she may take you down a path that makes you think, then throws in a punchline that is completely unexpected.
There are plenty of “one-liner” comedians out there, and don’t get me wrong they have their place, but if you’re looking for something a little different you’d enjoy Kathryn.
What a great night...witty, funny in a refreshing way and really brought the audience into her act. Everyone got into it. I see a lot of comics and it's hard to get an audience to engage like Kathryn does...she puts herself out there and is willing to laugh at herself too. I also noticed, because I've seen her several times, that she varies her 'style' based on the audience...not afraid to speak candidly but also is just as funny in front of audiences where we could not have expletives.

Kathryn is a recovering management consultant, nonprofit Board President, and working comedian. She's personal and professional.
Kathryn is a standup comedian, writer, actress and menace, sometimes in reverse order. She's known for sharp observations, an unfortunate amount of self-awareness, and her uniquely wild stories, many of which stem from teaching yoga in Cook County Jail. Kathryn splits time between Chicago, jail, and the road, where she's opened for Kevin Bozeman, Mo Amer, Michael Palascak, Cipha Sounds, and other (inter)national favorites, while writing scripts, filming shorts, and losing innumerous games of pool. She's been featured at clubs and festivals throughout the country including The Comedy Cellar in NYC, The Laugh Factory and Second City in Chicago, and at Madison Comedy Week. You can also catch her on social @kathryngong, where her mother suggests she is "undoing the work of generations of women before her". (Alright, Diane.)
Can provide mic/speaker/sound.
Can assist in production and booking additional talent as needed. (She produces a regularly sold-out independent show in the West Loop.)
