Hi, I’m Katy…
Allow me to introduce myselves: I’m a multi-faceted personality; Speaker, mom, book nerd, geek, blogger, business strategist, and Squirrel Herder.
But at my core, I’m a kid at heart bursting with enthusiasm for all the exciting possibilities. I frequently imagine myself as a superhero, but in reality- I’m a single mom to two adult kiddos and the primary caregiver to my adult-disabled son. My mission is to empower others, ensuring they never lose sight of just how AWESOME they are!
Scratching your head about the Squirrel Herder thing? It started as a joke, but it fit so well, I kept it. See, I'm guilty of collecting shiny objects, indulging in procrastination, and well...chasing squirrels. When I got tired of the chaos, I decided it was time to stop chasing and start herding all the craziness those squirrels created.
During my life journey, I’ve moved a lot. I enjoy exploring new cultures, meeting new people, and watching life from all the different angles – it has taught me how the same facts can be viewed from such differing perspectives. And when you move as often as I have, you develop certain skills and you learn to come up to speed super quick. My entrepreneurial journey has given me skills & expertise in building and growing a business; my personal journey has given me extensive experience in abuse recovery and caregiving knowledge.
I love my life, I love the lessons I've learned and the experiences I've had. It's been a rough ride, but I wouldn't change a thing.

As a professional, I try to be as easy to work with as possible. Point me in the right direction, hand me a mic, and give me a 5-minute warning to end the talk.
I do prefer an over-the-ear mic, but I'm just as comfortable with an attached mic or hand-held. If you need lighting and sound checks, make sure to give the time and place, and I'll be there ready to shine.
