Kehv

Kehv has an energetic and charismatic show. He plays the guitar and vocalizes some classics tunes as well as original compositions that you can not hear anywhere else. He also performs DJ style with backing tracks and some intermission music to keep all engaged. Also when playing with the band Kehv brings the audience into his performance. Sometimes you can expect someone in the crowd to get on the microphone! The goal is to entertain and leave the audience with something memorable.

Meet the dynamic singer, songwriter and producer “Everton “Kehv” Smith

Born in St. Ann, Jamaica Kehv was introduced to music at a young age and fell in love with it. When he was a child he migrated to the United States settling in Florida. A self-taught musician, Kehv got his first “big break” from a stranger who upon happenstance came across the young Everton Smith staring at a keyboard in a music shop and asked him to play something. The stranger then proceeded to purchase the keyboard for Kehv and thus igniting a flame that has sent Kehv on his musical journey.

Like so many others Kehv joined his church choir and soon blossomed into an amazing vocalist and prolific songwriter. With no formal training He mastered both the guitar and piano, in addition to learning how to craft song lyrics. As a teenager Kehv recorded his first single "Half Way There" and began performing at local events and talent shows. Gaining in confidence, and with a growing fanbase, his audience clamored for more music highlighting his beautiful vocals and heartfelt melodies.

Soon Kehv caught the ear of veteran reggae and dancehall producers Derrick Morgan, and Lance Lot the drummer of the legendary group Inner Circle. Recognizing his writing ability they put Kehv in the studio with established brands like Kymani Marley and Inner Circle, leading to his first major placements as a professional professional songwriter.

in 2008 Kehv was featured on the Inner Circle and Don Omar collaboration "Fly Away". Empowered by these professional achievements and experiences that showed Kehv that he was a legitimate force in the music business and had the talent, music production, songwriting and vocal arrangement not just for himself but for others as well.

With newfound confidence and a maturing more seasoned sound, Kehv decided to release more singles to which garnered critical acclaim and modest commercial success songs such as "Distant Lover", "Caribbean Sol-Jah” and “Conscious Farmer” enabled to Kehv to develop a fan base and go on tour throughout the Caribbean.

Kehv's early success as a recording artist took him all over the globe. He was honored to return home to Jamaica to peform. In addition he toured places such as Germany London, St. Kitts and Brazil to name a few.

Kehv has been fortunate to work with superstars and producers such as Kymani Marley, Wyclef, Jean, Tony Kelly, Earl “Chinna” Smith, Willy Lindo, Joshua Thompson, Lazaro Mendez, Born Free, Leroy “Badness”, Dean Thomas, Stupid Genius and many more. He has also shared the stage with international artists and bands such as Inner Circle, The Wailers, Big Mountain, Beenie Man, Shaggy, Sean Kingston, Dwayne Stephenson and Derrick Morgan the crowned King of Ska. Kehv have captured the minds of many far and wide and has been featured on major network stations such as BET, Hype TV, MTV, and Yaad Beat TV.

Following the release of his debut album “Simply Kehv” in 2009 and subsequent tour, Kehv took a step back from touring and being an artist to focus on raising his family and build his studio and production company Impressionist Music Group with longtime production partner Dean Thomas. Still Kehv would lend his vocals to feature on projects such "The train is coming Riddim" (A Smile); “Juicy Riddim" (Better days); "Soul Reggae Riddim" (I Still Care); and ”Pick Up The Pieces Riddim" (Love like this); as well as writing, producing and developing for artists both mainstream and independent.

In 2020 Kehv began releasing music again, reaching new audiences and discovering that his musical perspective and vocal ability still resonates with the masses. Songs like “Red Light”, “Perfect” and “Dragon Fly” is gaining traction on digital streaming platforms and garnering radio airplay internationally.

With his children now older and the world clamoring for substantive feel good songs again, Kehv is now planning to release music more consistently and perform more regularly globally.

BACKLINE: Electronic audio amplification equipment and speaker enclosures. when booking the band that would include backline with drum and amplification, speaker, microphone, mixing board.

If I need to provide sound equipment like PA system or backline that would come with an additional charge for rental of equipment.
