I am a guitarist who specializes in solo jazz guitar, small jazz ensembles, and Latin-American-inspired jazz music. I have been performing professionally for weddings, corporate events, cocktail hours, receptions, clubs, and music festivals for over 10 years. I work frequently around the greater Chicago area and Midwest as a soloist and with a wide variety of jazz ensembles. We were so pleased to have the Kenny Reichert Trio play for our company’s 25th anniversary celebration a few weeks ago. Once we settled on a jazz theme for our event, we started looking for someone that could provide live music for the evening. After listening to some of the music from Kenny’s page, we knew he would be a great fit for our event.
From the very beginning Kenny’s communication was very professional. He answered all our questions and responded to messages promptly. After contacting Kenny to discuss what our needs were, he suggested a trio for our event, and he arranged for a bass and drums to accompany him for the evening. The band was truly top notch! They knew exactly how to play for the space they were in. Our employees and guests could mingle and talk or just sit and enjoy the music. We could not be more pleased. We would definitely recommend Kenny to anyone looking to hire a very talented and professional jazz musician for their event.

My organization hired Kenny & his jazz combo to play our annual holiday party in 2021. They did a great job setting the mood for our event, and everyone was talking about them in the weeks to follow. Kenny was a delight to coordinate with; he is extremely kind and professional on top of being an excellent musician. 10/10 would recommend, would absolutely book again.

My Wife and I booked Kenny's Trio for our wedding and he was a joy to work with! Amid all other aspects of planning the wedding Kenny's performance was by far the easiest part for us. The band arrived on time, well dressed, and everything went off without a hitch. Their performance was excellent with improvisation and interplay between the three of them and the band knew exactly how to fit into the atmosphere of our cocktail hour. My only regret is that I couldn't watch them more!

About
Kenny Reichert is an award-winning guitarist, composer, bandleader, and educator whose innovative approach to the instrument has earned him recognition from DownBeat Magazine as “a distinctive player and composer.” Originally from Brookfield, Wisconsin, Reichert began his musical journey with piano, guitar, and organ before attending Berklee College of Music and later completing his studies in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He holds a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from DePaul University and was honored as a 2022 Luminarts Cultural Foundation Jazz Improvisation Fellow.
Reichert's dynamic playing and expansive artistic vision have led him to collaborate with renowned artists such as Russ Johnson, Geof Bradfield, Lenard Simpson, Clark Sommers, Ethan Philion, Devin Drobka, Ana Everling, and Alyssa Allgood. His third studio album, "Switch" (June 2024, Calligram Records), garnered acclaim, with All About Jazz describing it as “masterly without being showy.” His second album, "Deep Breath" (April 2023, Shifting Paradigm Records), was lauded by Textura, who noted that the compositions “make an immediate impression and warrant repeat engagement.” His debut album, "Interpretations," self-released in 2015, along with his contributions to recordings like Johannes Wallmann’s "Love Wins," Ana Everling’s “Live at Pro Musica,” and Ian Ewing’s "Overnight," further highlight his versatility and creativity.
In addition to his solo work, Reichert collaborates with his wife, Sara d’Ippolito Reichert, in the jazz-folk duo "Sara and Kenny." The duo has toured extensively across the United States and Europe, releasing several acclaimed albums and singles. Reichert also performs in the organ trio Righteous Rooster and as a sideman for vocalist Ana Everling and baritone saxophonist Jimmy Farace. Additionally, Reichert composes and produces music for sync and licensing, contributing to numerous releases under various music libraries.
