Passionate community activist dedicated to uplifting and enriching my community through words accompanied by action. I am fluent in various speaking topics including: the plight of homelessness, the importance of civic participation at the local, state and national levels, the need for a "village approach" to combating homelessness, using a setback as a means for a comeback and defying the stereotypes associated with black males lacking a father in their lives. Through my life experiences, I am able to relate to a wide variety of demographics and deliver words that will leave the audience inspired, further educated, and highly motivated to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow head-on.

Husband, Father, Millennial, Scholar, Fitness Addict, Writer, Visionary, Product of a Single Mother and Lover of All Mankind are just a few ways to describe the Founder and Executive Director of iMPOWER, Kevin S. Thomas.
While stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma as a young lieutenant in the United States Army, Kevin came up with the idea of establishing an organization centered around holistic empowerment, with a strong focus on low-income communities. Kevin believes that in order for the world to realize a day in which inequality of all forms no longer exists, it will require a diverse, nonpartisan movement, free of prejudice, selfishness and oppression to unite for the good of humanity in effort to ensure that all people, of all walks of life, have an equal opportunity to realize their potential and thrive. Kevin seeks to bring people of all ages, cultures, faiths, sexual orientations, ethnicities and backgrounds together in order to start a movement that will stretch across the globe promoting altruistic deeds and harmony. He does NOT accept the notion that some of the world's problems are unsolvable or will never be completely resolved.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Bowie State University, the oldest Historically Black College in the state of Maryland, and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Community, Administration and Policy from the Howard University School of Social Work. He is a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. He currently resides in Prince George's County, MD with his wife Janay and their four children Kevin II, McKenzie, Kaitlynn and Kennedy.
