I can't say enough good things about our experience with Kimberly who performed violin music during our church worship service! She came early to set up, was very professional and organized and had a very pleasant personality. Her song selections were perfect and our congregation immensely enjoyed her music! I highly recommend her services if you are in need of a violinist! 5 stars for sure!!

I was so impressed with Violinist, Kimberly Simpkins performance at our 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration. She harmoniously blended traditional and modern musical styles at our event. Her skilled ability to play jazz, classic, contemporary and gospel melodies was outstanding. I highly recommend Violinist Kimberly Simpkins.

I've been told that my playing is reminiscent of David playing the harp for Saul: it soothes the soul. With my years of experience playing multiple genres for a wide variety of audiences, I am able to hone in on what will bless your audience most, whether it's a party, a church service, a memorial, or other special event.
As a violinist for over four decades, (and violist for almost 10 years) Kimberly Simpkins has earned respect industry wide as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. Her experiences have placed her into contact with a wide variety of cultures, ethnic backgrounds, musical genres and venues all over the world.
She began her studies on violin in the Cumberland County (NC) Schools. As a student, she was a member of the Fayetteville Symphony, Cumberland County Youth Orchestra, and All-State orchestras where she received top honors, including Concertmistress. She earned her Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance at the University of NC at Greensboro, graduating cum laude.
Mrs. Simpkins has studied with Trevor Williams of the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music, performed in a Master Class with Josef Gingold, and earned a Masters Degree in Violin performance from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, under the tutelage of Dr. Miroslav Hristov.
In the ‘90s, Mrs. Simpkins combined her faith and talent by joining an interdenominational music and missions organization based in California. This organization took her to nearly 30 countries and 46 States. Some of her experiences included performing in a leper colony in India, orphanages in China and Rwanda, as well as for the Presidential Guard in Colombia, South America, and for the Archbishop of Canterbury. It was in this group she met her husband of 24 years, with whom she has a daughter.
Mrs. Simpkins currently maintains an active career as a music educator and freelance musician.
