Kinda Sorta

Kinda Sorta writes and performs catchy original music (no covers) in the Americana genre but with elements of rock, blues, jazz, folk and reggae. The instrumentation is piano, acoustic guitar, bass and percussion, along with vocals. Although a quartet, the stage footprint is relatively compact. The band uses in-ear- monitors, which means there are no speakers on stage. As a result, the stage volume is relatively quiet. The band has a first class sound system that is compact yet provides crystal-clear quality sound as loud (or quiet) as you may want. Kinda Sorta performs uptempo "rockers" mixed in with mid-tempo songs and quiet thoughtful ballads. Some of the songs are humorous. The type of audience that most appreciates Kinda Sorta is a "listening" audience, rather than a "partying" and/or "dancing" audience.

Kinda Sorta is an Americana band based in Austin, Texas, comprised of Carla Coleman (vocals, keyboards), Danny Coleman (vocals, guitar, bass), Jeff Hoffman (vocals, guitar) and Jeff Spencer (vocals, percussion). All are veteran musicians, having spent decades performing throughout the U.S. in rock, blues, folk, country, jazz, Americana, and classical music settings. The music of Kinda Sorta is all original and blends these various genres into a unique sound.
