Appalachian Conjure & Folk Workings: using old mountain folk remedies, practical conjuration (called 'Workings'), professional Bone/Oracle Readings, and consultations, we bring that old rustic, simple charm. Some of that old magic, too.
We offer Readings: full, 1-on-1 sessions lasting ~30 minutes, or quick and dirty Readings, lasting between 5-8 minutes. Both are informative, simple, and FUN, so everyone's having a good time! We also offer ‘Uncle J, The Workin' Man:’ same readings as before, but also interactive storytelling, putting your guests/clients in the middle of the action. Great for adults and kids alike to enjoy the fun and frightening tales of the mountains of NC!
I had OSC come out about a month ago (before gigsalad was set up, I guess) and it was great. Some weird stuff had been going on luck wise and with family. I got both a reading and some candle work done and things have really started to pick up! It's strange, but don't knock it till you've tried it.
Response from Kinfolk - Appalachian Curatives & Workings:
Thanks so much, Patrick! I'm glad everything's working for you!
Price Range: $100 and up, depending on service needed.
Gig Length: 120 - 480 minutes
Languages: English
Insurance: $250,000 - General Practitioner/Contractor Liability
For outcall appointments, I'll show up gear in tow to whatever service we discussed beforehand (for in-call appointments, this won't apply). We'll get comfortable, chat about the specifics of what you need done/read/etc, and hop right to it!
J Robert Raines is a 4th generation Appalachian Conjureman, Healer, and educator working and living in Wilmington, NC, specializing in spirit work, readings, and cleansing. Exploring the roots of Appalachian Folk Magic from its foundations in the Southeastern part of Appalachia, along with the numerous offshoots that have cropped up both in the past and contemporarily, J has developed his own style of Folk Conjure while respecting and acknowledging the pain and the traditions of the past.
When I come in for a gig, I will already have my equipment preset and ready to build (table, chairs, accouterment, etc.); depending on the space, I can also provide a 10'x10' tent to utilize if necessary. Typically the only thing I'll typically need during both the initial setup and length of the gig is a power outlet to plug an expension cable into.
