You can expect just what you ask for. if you are looking for someone to come and engage the youth and just have a good time, you can expect some upbeat Christian Hip Hop songs, as well us Solj and I coming out with lots of energy. If you ask us to come out and minister to an older crowd, you can expect a more laid back L'Mo and Solj, with some praise and worship with a bit of rap incorporated. We are pretty versatile. We are also ministers of the gospel, so expect a Word wherever we go!
DeJuan “Solj” Roberts and LaSondra “L’Mo” Roberts are a husband and wife duo who does motivational speaking and Christian Hip-Hop music. Helping save lives is what they desire to do with the music they make. With a motto of, "Faith without Wurx is dead; this duo has been going city to city, believing that by faith, someone will be helped by the words they say. Their most recent work is called "God Said Yes." With drug overdoses being at an all time high, God inspired this duo to write a song reaching out to those struggling with addiction. They are in the midst of their "God Said Yes" tour, which they hope will reach the entire nation. With their hit song "Super Hero" spinning on a local station, the duo has been gaining popularity in Birmingham, Alabama.
Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, LaSondra has been singing and acting since she was a little girl. At the age of 5, she performed with Kirk Franklin, John P. Kee, and the Mississippi Mass Choir, giving her a love for being on stage. Singing, acting, and writing have led LaSondra to various endeavors. In September of 2016, she will be starring in a movie called, “Something Just Ain’t Right. LaSondra has a passion for helping hurting people; she says, "If I can help at least one person each day, then my living and my singing is not in vain."
Born in Passaic, NJ, DeJuan Roberts knew that he had a calling on his life. Nevertheless, he ran from the calling. Feeling the stress of his parent’s divorce, DeJuan rebelled and looked to the streets for a place of belonging. His passion for music had already begun due to his father constantly listening to various genres of music. He began making “gangsta rap” that aligned with the lifestyle he was living. Soon the lifestyle he was living caught up to him and he was stabbed by a rival gang member one inch from his jugular vein. He did not finish his senior year in high school but he knew that he had to get out of New Jersey. Having roots in Alabama, DeJuan got his GED and went to Jacksonville State University where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degree. During this time, DeJuan accepted the calling that God had on his life and he began making Christian Hip Hop Music. DeJuan says, "I know the street life because I've lived it. I have the stab wounds to show it. If I can show others a way out of that life, I have fulfilled my purpose. These two lived totally different lives but have come together on the same accord: To help save lives.
We sometimes bring a small band with us (keys, drums, and sometimes guitar.) However, we are capable of performing with tracks as well. (CD player or mobile device)
