Klezamir is a versatile, multi-talented, highly experienced band with a huge repertoire and top-notch musicians. Klezamir offers Yiddish and Israeli dance music (with easy dance lessons if desired), classic rock, jazz standards, quiet background music, Bossa Nova, classical music (flute and guitar) and swing. Choose the styles you want - there is something for everyone. You and your guests will thoroughly enjoy Klezamir's offering of quality music, high spirits, and fun.

Klezamir can also serve as Master of Ceremonies, and you are most welcome to use our microphones for toasts, announcements and other kinds of presentations you and your guests may wish to do.

Klezamir, New England’s dynamic roots rockin’ klezmer band extraordinaire, serves you up traditional klezmer infused with a wide range of other styles (in the tradition of true klezmorim from time immemorial!) Coming from the powerful country, rock, R&B, classical, folk, bluegrass, and Balkan dance backgrounds of seasoned luminaries Jim Armenti, Keith Levreault, Joe Blumenthal and Amy Rose, this is one great band! Klezamir plays clarinet, guitar, mandolin, flute, piano, nose flute, bass, drums and percussion. AND we’ll get you up and dancing!!!

Klezmer (literally “musician” in Yiddish) combines the soulful cry of Middle Eastern music, the exciting beat of Eastern European dance music,
and the good-time feel of Dixieland.

Klezamir travels around New England performing at concerts, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah and schools. Klezamir’s CDs have received critical acclaim. Klezamir is on the Massachusetts Cultural Council Artist Roster and the New England Touring Roster which provide grant money for public and school performances.

Klezamir was born in 1986 and has played hundreds of concerts, weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations, radio and TV shows. Klezamir first two CDs, “Klezamir Cooks for Tante Barbara”, and “Back in the Shtetl Again”, met with critical acclaim and solidified the group’s stature as one of New England's top Klezmer groups. In the summer of 2000, Klezamir became affiliated with Young Audiences of Massachusetts and began the production of its third CD. Klezamir's 4th CD came out in 2006.
