Kristen Danielle Williams (March 17, 1978) was born in Detroit, Michigan. Her passion for music started at the age of six and during that time, her parents encouraged piano lessons. Kristen attended Christ Tabernacle COGIC in Detroit, Michigan. While being raised in the COGIC (Church Of God In Christ) doctrine, she began actively singing at the age of nine during church services. Her anointed filled voice was heard singing at revivals, district meetings and musicals. She successfully had made a name for herself through the years performing the National Anthem at her high school events, doing solos in choir and participating in select ensambles.
Kristen has never strayed from her path in music so she began writing and arranging songs. She first entered the studio at the age of 15 and since then has gained knowledge and experience of the music industry. While competing in talent shows and community events, Kristen has gained many recognitions for volunteering her talent and love for singing. In 2003, she won the award "Vocalist Of The Year" while participating in a local talent show Stardom Awards. Not only did she win First Place but it also led her an opportunity to sing alongside Jocelyn' B and the Detroit Street Players that same year at Memphis Smoke located in Royal Oak, Michigan.
Kristen is currently working on her debut CD "The Storm Is Almost Over." She will be the first artist coming out from KIP Music Group in which she co-owns. She states, "This CD is a testimony that we can go through storms but God brings us through them." One of the songs on the CD "Open Your Eyes" tells about how wonderful and merciful our God is and how we should always be willing to tell of his goodness. The song "Be Right" speaks about how now is the time for repentance for we know not the time in which the Lord will return. Kristen dedicates this album to her father, the late Superintendent Dr. Jack Williams, whom was also her Pastor. She quotes, "My father was very supportive and instrumental in my musical career."
"Through KIP Music Group our goal is to help music artists enter this industry in a positive, supportive way without discrimination. There are no weight restrictions, and no age limits. I want to help be a blessing to someone through my ministry of music. Putting God first, anything is possible." - Kristen D. Williams
