Formed in 2002 by bassist Jennifer May performances include the Chautauqua Institute, Lewiston Jazz Festival, Strong Museum Rochester, M&T Plaza Summer Concert Series, The Tralf, Youngstown, KenTon Summer concerts, various Senior Centers and more.

Gig Length: 60 - 180 minutes
Great music, entertaining, with audience participation, variety of music to dance to or listen to. We require an hour to set up and an hour to tear down. Sets are 45 minutes in length with 15 minute breaks between sets. 1, 2, or 3 hour performances. We bring all our own equipement and provide sound if needed (for an additional fee). A contract is required with a deposit and the balance payment is due at the beginning of the performance. We are flexible to the event venue as far as being able to set up on a full stage, or smaller room. If possible the venue can provide 13 chairs for the musicians.
Ladies First Jazz is a 15 Piece All Female Award Winning Big Band (available also in smaller combos). Formed in 2002 by award winning Bassist Jennifer May, whose performances include tours through the Department of Defense for 5 years to various military basses and embassies worldwide. Ladies First Jazz has an extensive music library, including songs great for dances or concert performances. Jazz classics (Fly me to the moon, SIng Sing Sing etc), polkas, waltzes, cha-cha's, and other Latin styles. We will put events on our website if they are open to the public. Ladies First Jazz has performanced/raised funds for charitable organizations such as Habitat For Humanity, and Girl Scouts of America. The musicians are from Buffalo and surrounding areas, varying in ages and occupations include: 5 Saxophones, 3 trombones, 4 trumpets, Piano, Bass, Drums, Vocals.
