The Big Problem With Speakers at Conventions and Workshops:
The audience is fired up. They are excited and there is a buzz roaming the hall after the speaker gives his speech. The next day the buzz dies down a little. A week later, 98% of the attendees have forgotten everything they learned and they are no longer "fired up."
The next year the same convention is in Las Vegas and the meeting planner has to re-market to fill the room. A series of emails, direct mail campaigns, and phone calls are needed to sell tickets and convention space. The dropout percentage gets higher as the economy continues to be stale.
