Latoya A Plus Slater has just been awarded Best New Female Actor 2017 from the Diversity on Stage and Film in Memphis! Born and raised Memphian and daughter of the late W.C. Brown radio personality of WDIA in Memphis. This theatre major has not always been able to talk about her experiences involving street gangs and the crimes that led her to the state penitentiary for seven years. Nevertheless, she has found a new life through stage play writing, performing and directing under the instruction of Mr. Ron Gephart and Mr. and Mrs. Levi Frazier. She mastered film education with instruction from channel five news reporter Mr. Ben Watson. She is a published author of 5 e-books. She was awarded Southwest Tennessee Community College’s 2011 Theatre student of the year, Sisterhood Showcase Spoken Word Competition Champion. This woman took a leap in a new direction hosting a one woman television show “All The Way Live” on Comcast channel 31 where she engaged spoken word with comedy, dramatic monologues and thought provoking skits. Today she is a successful business owner, Best leading actress Ostrander three time nominee for the stage play she wrote about her past entitled “The Woman in Me." Meet Latoya A Plus Slater...
