I have seen John McCombs several times and I am never disappointed !
John has the ability to win a crowd over. At one show a gentleman was sitting up front with his arms crossed and almost defying John to make him laugh. John didn't get upset, instead he pulled out $20 and said if I don't make you laugh this is yours, the man not only laughed but wanted to pay John double the amount!
Price Range: $100-$500
I am able to craft a stand up comedy event to your particular tastes and preferences. I can work clean (up to 30 minutes) or go completely raunchy (up to 75 minutes). I have a conversational style so I do like to talk to your audience but if they are uncomfortable I can leave them alone just as well.
I am intimately familiar with hundreds of comedians in the Chicago comedy scene so if you have the budget I can cultivate a lineup of several comedians who can also meet your needs for the event.
If need be I can supply my own sound equipment for the event but I will need at least 48 hours notice if you require me to bring sound equipment.
I'm also willing to travel up to 15 miles outside of my location at no additional charge. For events further than 15 miles away that will have to be considered in the final budget for the event.
John McCombs is a 13 year veteran of comedy and a 4 year veteran of the Marine Corps. His unique perspective intertwines the absurdity of an aggressive military background with realizing his shortcomings as a man who relies on Youtube to learn how to fix things. John has performed in 15 different countries over two European tours and has opened for Michelle Wolf (Netflix, Comedy Central) Tim Meadows (SNL) and is a regular at clubs in the Chicagoland area.
Typically a good comedy show should be indoors, with a spotlight onstage, with a good microphone, a stand, and a stool. I'm well aware that you might not have all or even any of these things. For that reason I am able to bring my own microphone and speaker if necessary and adapt as the situation requires. Please let me know what is and isn't feasible for you to provide. I want to make your event as successful as possible!
