Laura Lawless Circus

Apparatus Laura offers-
-Silks (fabric hanging from the ceiling to the floor),
-Lyra (the hoop that hangs in the air from a rope),
-Hammock (fabric like a silk hung in a loop),
-Rope/Corde lisse (a single long rope),
-Aerial Chains (heavy duty chain hanging in loops),
-Lollipop Lyra (a free standing aerial hoop but propped atop a pole, perfect for venues without the ability to support aerial rigging)
-Acts can also be performed as duo (two performers on the same apparatus) and syncro (multiple performers on multiple apparatus)

Laura Lawless specialty apparatuses -
-Flying Fire Hoop (Just what it sounds like, aerial hoop on fire!)**
-Hoop silks (aerial hoop suspended at great height with silks trailing around them down to the -ground).
-The Carouselle (a Trio act, three performers glide in circles like a living carouselle)
-The Curly Q (a small spiral of metal)
-The Mega Cube (a quad act on giant 6ft tall metal cube)

Types of performances-
-Featured performance, a single, choreographed piece, approximately 5 minutes in length (usually 1 song) that is high impact, exhibiting extreme feats of strength and flexibility while performing daring and dynamic tricks
-Ambient/installation performance, usually 3x 15 minute sets over the space of 1-2hrs (alternative timing can be arranged). This installation is intended to add to the overall atmosphere of the event and will be less trick focused and more about improvising beautiful shapes to the music provided

I grew up as a multi disciplinary dancer and gymnast in Australia taking up aerials and finally finding my true passion in life as an adult. I was lucky enough to grow my skills as a professional aerialist under the close mentorship of Wendy Dys, the Director of Art Babes Circus and Burlesque, honing my craft and finding a revived focus on movement as expression. In my native Australia I performed in successful Adelaide Fringe Festival shows, held an aerial artist residency in Sky City Casino and performed around the country with Art Babes. Since coming to Canada 4 years ago I have worked with several large Ontario based entertainment companies (A2D2, TD entertainment, Hercinia Arts, Hit and Run Dance company, La Rouge entertainment) and have performed in the cast of many circus cabarets and shows in venues from casa loma to the scotia bank arena and I held two of Toronto's highly prized aerial artists residencies at Copacabana and Pravda.

Technical Requirements-
-Structural load bearing rigging point (not required for lollipop)
-Access to rigging point
-For silks and rope - Minimum ceiling height of 18ft
-For feature performances - a cleared performance area with a diameter of at least 10 feet around rigging point extending down to the floor
*Extra rigging fees may apply depending on individual venue needs and specifications
*Additional fees will be required if custom costume aesthetic designs are requested
*Additional fees may be applied for travel outside of the GTA
** for Fire shows a fire safety person must also be engaged at an additional cost
