Lee is an elegant Solo Pianist/Vocalist who can perform in all genres of music, specializing in Jazz, Standards, Sinatra, Big Band, Country, Pop, Rock and Reggae.
He has extremely well-produced instrumental backgrounds which he can use to create the sound of a group and provide really danceable grooves. If the client prefers only elegant solo piano with or without
vocals he is quite adept at that as well.
Lee endeavors to be sensitive about fitting the sound level to the venue and the audience so that it is pleasing but not overbearing.
Hi Lee, What a great time Michelle and I had listening to you play while we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at Dahl & DaLuca restaurant this last Friday evening. Who could ask for nicer? Your playing was beyond exceptional. True musical artistry - exceptional. Thank you VERY much.

Lee Stewart will tailor his musical presentation to the needs of the event for which he is performing.
He has an extensive repertoire in nearly every genre, and well-produced backing tracks with which
he can perform to make the music either mellow background or a very danceable orchestrated show.
Having performed in many diverse venues, Lee is very sensitive about issues of sound level and style
and is quite willing to cooperate with the event planner and room manager to make the event both
pleasant and satisfying.
Lee Stewart, pianist, vocalist, producer, arranger, recording engineer and song writer
As a boy growing up in Kansas City, Mo. Lee knew at the age of six what he
wanted to do: play the piano. He persuaded his parents to give him piano lessons
which was the beginning of 14 years of classical piano training.
Early on, he began to be fascinated by other styles of music he heard on the
radio and began learning the music by ear and developing his own interpretations.
Artists like Ray Charles, Mose Allison, Dave Brubeck, Bill Evans, Oscar Peterson,
Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and even The Beatles shaped Lee's
all-embracing and diverse stye. In college he played the Motown music and rock of
the era, later developing his jazz style. A stint living in Jamaica introduced him to
reggae and later in Austin, Texas playing country music further broadened his musical
scope.
Lee began playing professionally at age 16 and has remained a professional
for over 50 years, performing from the midwest to Las Vegas and California and most
recently 27 years as a Big Island favorite in all the best venues there.
Before coming to Big Island he was a regular entertainer for 5 years at the
world-famous Pebble Beach Lodge in Carmel Ca., and the Quail Lodge in Carmel
Valley. In December of 1990 Lee opened at the newly-built Ritz Carlton Hotel on the
Kohala Coast of the Big Island where he remained for eight years through two
changes of ownership. A two-year hiatus saw him playing all the best venues in
Vancouver and Whistler, B.C. For 16 years he was the featured entertainer at
Huggo's Restaurant in Kailua-Kona, Hi., attracting a loyal following from
all over the world. In 2016 Lee relocated to Medford, OR where he has been a
regular performer in wineries and restaurants in the area.
He has performed with stars B.W. Stephenson, Milton Carroll,
David Allen Coe, Johnny Mathis, Steven Bishop, Barbara McNair and others.
He has operated a successful recording studio since 1981, completing ten
commercially-sold albums for clients and countless artist demos. He records,
arranges and produces all his own backing tracks for his live performances.
Lee has a versatile vocal style and singing is as much a part of his presentation as his
piano playing.
When asked what music has meant in his life Lee replies: “Music is my life. It
is the gift I've been given to share with others, to bring joy and inspiration to their
lives.”
Lee Stewart has worked with numerous sound engineers and lighting professionals through the years and has an engineering background which enables him to be a good team player. He will work with whatever facilities the venue provides to try to achieve the best presentation.
If no sound system is provided, Lee has a high quality small portable sound system he can provide and he can get a nice sound from it.
Although he prefers to perform on a good quality acoustic grand piano, he has an electronic piano to provide for venues that do not have a piano.

Preferred setup would be a well-tuned acoustic grand piano, boom mic and floor monitor near the piano. If Lee is providing his recorded background tracks he will need a stereo D.I. box onstage to send his tracks to the house mixing board.
