Lili

Luyan Li is a female artist from Beijing. She was born and raised in China and went to Ohio State University to pursue a BFA dance major from (phone number hidden)1.
Her interests are exploring the human body's extremities while expressing real emotions. She sees dance techniques as her tools and options, instead of as strict rules and limitations. She is especially good in freestyle, floorwork, performances, and film productions, she is also interested in art education and art
management. She has always been a fast learner and
holds curiosity in new fields and dance styles. She loves sharing thoughts with people and put a strong belief in diversity and community. Her movement research is driven by simple elements in daily life, and strong emotions and empathy. By keeping creating and learning, she hopes that she can heal herself first and eventually heal and spread love to other people.

Luyan competed in Galen Hooks Freestyle Roulette in LA, 2022, she made it into the final list of "HEELS" category and semi-final list of "THRILLS" category. She performed works by Daniel Roberts, Dr. Nyama McCarthy-Brown,
Momar Ndiaye, and Gamal Brown. In 2018, she performed Momar’s No Man No Cry
in International black dance. In 2021, she performed Gamal Brown’s piece in an OSU faculty concert. She is a current recipient of the Helen P. Alkire Scholarship,
Dean’s List Honoree and was awarded an OSU Undergraduate scholarship.
