I combine many different styles of dance into my fire shows. It's not just circus or flow arts, it's my old pop n lock, my old liquid, and gliding that I add into my art case.
With a precise understanding of contact staff, double contact staff, contact staff on staff, double staff matrices, sword, double sword, contact sword and double sword. I have a wide variety of props and different sequence routines to choose from to relentlessly entertain my audience with new material.
Whether to slow dance, or high paced bpm, I adapt to my setting, capturing who I can in my array.
Born and raised in South Florida, bred off the wonder of the world. I went to college for a while then left to find myself. I didn't want to waste money in a place I felt I couldn't grow. So I found dancing, art, and my current main career paths; massage, and cooking. I've had to opportunity to travel from one side of this country, to the next, North, South, East, West. Giving me a wide conception and perspective of cultures, styles, and people.
I started dancing when I left high school, and quickly became known in my scene as a battler. From liquid, pop n lockn, gliding all over underground Miami to festivals a continent away; isn't lost before I found out about flow arts, and fire art.
I wanted to combine the two together, and this has brought me to where I am now in my journey. It's no longer about sequencing the best tricks, or coolest moves; but how to add them into my old style of dancing, the same hypnotic affect that I stole eyes with. How to move measure by measure, beat by beat in music, illustrating myself.
I've always been a methodical individual. Everything I do is planned from the beginning. I love to see things as a large canvas for which I may splash my expression on, and slowly pick it apart after to perfect myself slowly.
Young, but ambitious, things are seen to me as challenges that I've inadvertently asked for out of my desire to grow and inspire.
I prefer a ten by ten area, this allows for a lot of power moves and movement. More is better, less is adaptable.
Lighting is to the will of the property/production. We're playing with fire, so there's a lot of lighting on me already.
Sound is no issue of mine.
The one thing I will require in all of my performances is the ability to bring with me a safety. In fire spinning there is a very obvious endangerment to myself and my environment. Through trial and error, artists in the field have realized the necessity for a person nearby with a safety towel and or fire extinguisher in case of emergencies. This protects myself, my audience, and the property. Without this, I will not accept any leads.
Extinguisher at hand (Not necessary, should be provided by performer, but always helpful)
