A solo guitarist for many years, I offer music for all occasions. I play arrangements of popular songs, classical and light jazz.
Thank you Louis for setting the mood for a great event! The music was beautiful, thank you again!
Lou was very professional and made sure he personalized all his music to match our taste! Highly recommended!!
Louis' playing added the perfect character to our outdoor wedding! He was ready and set up ahead of time and chose an appropriate selection of prelude music.
As the groom, I was unable to meet Louis, but he made it incredibly easy for me to book and prepare for the big day. Thank you, Louis!
Working with Lou Arnold was pure delight. His selection of music and his playing enchanted my guests. Even the staff at the inn remarked on its charm and said it was the best music at any event they'd worked. In addition, Lou stayed in touch and was friendly and engaging as well as professional. I definitely recommend him for any occasion! Diana Cole
I hired Lou the Friday before my wedding day. I knew I had wanted a guitarist but thought one of my friends would play.. when that did not pan out I booked online, and Lou contacted me right away. He was so easy to work with on the phone and offered excellent suggestions. He emailed me a quick sample of him playing a song I wanted to hear. For our wedding ceremony he played Andecy by Andrew York for our processional, and B in October for our recessional. The processional had a little delay but Lou handled it perfectly and looped the song over so that it did not seem like an interruption. During the ceremony he played low background music and it was priceless. I especially loved "What the world needs now is love" a Beatles cover that he performed. So Beautiful !!!! Lou's smile and skill set a perfect mood for our wedding ceremony. My only regret is not being able to sit and listen to him play longer. I would recommend booking with Lou again and again, we were so happy !!!! ~Jennie&Jason 08/02/2013
Lou generously donated his time to perform at an event held in honor of the Sandy Hook victims. His performance and contribution to the 26 Angels Benefit made it a heartwarming experience for all who attended. We are incredibly humbled to have had his talent on stage with us that night. Thank you, Lou!
My husband and I asked Louis Arnold to play classical guitar for our outdoor wedding reception in September! He was amazing. Before the wedding we worked with Louis to select the perfect songs, speaker system, and music strategy for our event. His guidance, kindness, and expertise leading up to the 'Big Day' went above and beyond what we ever could have expected and our wedding ceremony was magical. Louis really worked with us to match the songs perfectly to our wedding by looping verses to allow for a longer walk down the aisle and adjusting sound levels accordingly. If I could re-marry my husband, I would not hesitate to ask Louis to play again! I highly recommend Louis Arnold's professional attitude, genuine kindness, and above all his amazing talent on the guitar. One listen to him playing Pacabel Cannon and you'll know what I mean!!
I heard Lou perform recently at a small gathering and I really enjoyed his guitar playing! His expertise and his selection of beautiful pieces that were new to me were delightful. Lou's knowledge of and love for the music he plays is obvious. It was a very special evening!
I loved the music and variety of the low key show (about 10 dinner guests). I was very taken by the tone of Lou's guitar, and the number of notes he plays at once. It was sometimes hard for me to believe he was unaccompanied. I look forward to hearing Lou again.
Louis Arnold played at our wedding. It was outdoors by a waterfall in the garden and was a large event. His selections were elegant and well chosen. He was prompt, attentive, warm and professional in demeanor. His wealth of experience was evident as we planned the ceremony. Countless guests remarked about the beautiful music and how it brought everyone together in the moment. Everything came together seamlessly and I couldn't have been happier that day. I will certainly hire him again and recommend him highly.
We hired Lou to play my son's wedding, an outdoor ceremony on a lake, after hearing him play at another outdoor wedding. His music sounded so beautiful drifting through the natural setting that we wanted it ourselves. As others have noted, the available selection of music was quite varied, and Lou was easy to work with to arrive at a desired song list. He arrived early with plenty of time for set-up. Things ran a little late before the ceremony, and Lou easily filled in with music fitting with the general theme. His playing is exquisite and nuanced, and provided a great backdrop to a wonderful day. We received many positive comments from our guests on the music. I would highly recommend him for his abilities and for his professionalism.
Lou Arnold mesmerized all of us who were lucky enough to attend an intimate house concert he performed in rural Maine a few weeks ago. What a delight that we did not have to travel to NYC or Boston to enjoy such a warm, personable and heartfelt musician perform. Thank you Louie.

I can't say enough about how wonderful it was to have Louis play at our daughter's wedding! We had an outdoor wedding, and Louis played as guests were being seated, and during the wedding processional. He helped us pick music that was perfect, and the music set the tone for the celebration. His Pachabel Canon is incredible!!! Everyone was mesmerized. Really all out superb!!! I highly recommend him.
"When we first met with Lou to discuss music for our wedding, he sat at the dining room table making suggestions and happily agreeing to learn a couple of songs that we dearly wanted. Throughout our discussion he played random guitar riffs that might just as well have been a beautiful cd recording - while talking with us the entire time! Simply amazing! In addition he was willing to go the extra mile, literally, as our wedding was held near our home on Nantucket Island. We gambled on an outdoor wedding in early October and luckily the weather was cool but clear. Lou was prepared for any eventuality and everything went off without a hitch. Playing was masterful, before, during and after the Ceremony! Sound was clear and bright throughout. We couldn't have been happier with his professionalism combined with such a warm and agreeable attitude. We heartily recommend him!"

Lou played at our wedding. He learned quite a few of our favorite songs which amazed us as we knew it took much time and care. Knowing him now I see that this is his way; each song a new approach, care and time. Artistry.
I then came to him with a passle of original songs and watched as he brought his unique vision and flavor to truly make them sing. Those songs havae turned into a CD called SHIMMER. It will be available within the month.
Thank you, Lou. For the gift of your art. And for the generosity of your spirit.
Louis played for us at our wedding and we have enjoyed his music over the many years since then. You can hear from the selections on this site just a small sample of his virtuosity and versatility. Whatever the occasion, Louis' music enhances it. Highly recommended !!!

A client should expect me to be proactive, on time, well dressed and focused on providing the music desired for the occasion. An audience member will hear exceptional guitar playing of great beauty that is fun to listen to but not "in your face."
I'm a professional guitarist and a graduate of the Longy School of Music. I perform for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, background music for dinners, receptions and other occasions. I do not sing and I am focused on creating the right ambiance for each event. I have my own sound system that is small and sets up quickly. My repertoire includes music from the Beatles to Bach and I do arrange music for wedding ceremonies by request for a reasonable fee.
