Hello! My name is Lucas Gillan and I'm a professional drummer active in the Chicago area. I grew up in Tucson, AZ, but have been living in the Chicago area for over 10 years. I have a bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Northern Illinois University and am currently pursuing my master's degree in Jazz Studies at DePaul University.
I play drums in a variety of musical situations, including an original soul/R&B band, cover bands, and many modern jazz groups. I have toured throughout the country and have performed at all of Chicago's main jazz and rock venues, including the Green Mill, the Jazz Showcase, Constellation, Lincoln Hall and the Hideout. I also have extensive experience playing countless weddings, private events, and restaurants.
The Lucas Gillan Trio is my main outlet for providing music for private events and venues that are looking for a distinct live jazz ambience. We bring a wealth of professional experience to every gig, and would love to make your next event special!
