Hi! My name is Luke Fitzpatrick, and I am a professional flute player living in the Miami Beach area. I am available to do weddings, parties, lessons, or anything else in the world that needs a flute player :). To find out more about me, please see my bio below:
Luke Fitzpatrick is a current New World Symphony flute fellow. He recently graduated from the Colburn School Conservatory of Music in Los Angeles, California where he studied with Jim Walker. While living in Los Angeles Luke collaborated with artists such as Quatuor Ebene, and Jean-Yves Thibaudet. Luke also has BM and MM degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Carnegie Mellon University, respectively. Luke has attended summer festivals including the National Orchestral Institute, the National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Aspen music festival, the National Symphony's Summer Music Institute, and the Chautauqua music festival.
Luke has participated in numerous competitions, placing 1st in the Rochester Flute Association's Emerging Artist competition, and was a winner in the Pittsburgh Concert Society Young Artist Competition. He has also been a finalist in the Byron Hester and NSO Young Soloists competitions, and a prizewinner in the Chicago Flute Club Competition.
Luke also enjoys teaching flute and has participated in numerous teaching programs, including Eastman's "Music for All" outreach initiative and the Music Academy's MERIT (Music Education Reinforces Intellect and Talent) program as a mentor to young musicians.
While in Los Angeles, Luke was an instructor at the Colburn Conservatory Jumpstart music program. Jumpstart is a community engagement program that offers access to substantive, meaningful instruction for high-need students interested in learning in both a private and group setting. All students received a full-scholarship, including an instrument, weekly private lessons, weekly sections, full band rehearsals, as well as occasional master classes taught by the master teachers.
