Drawing on over 35 years of professional experience, pianist/singer Luke Sandford has performed in cabarets, care homes, hotels, piano bars and restaurants across Canada, the US and Europe. His wide-ranging repertoire, encompassing over 100 years of popular music (ragtime, jazz standards, blues, Broadway show tunes, pop, rock and originals), is designed to appeal to the broadest possible range of audiences: intimate gatherings, elegant receptions, raucous sing-alongs, parties, weddings and corporate events of all kinds. From mild to wild! Luke knows how to "read the room" and give audiences what they want: sophisticated arrangements, joyful moments and high-energy good times!!

Luke is a joy to listen to. He is a phenomenal pianist performing original music along with Tin Pan Alley classics & Broadway favourites. Luke has a wonderful stage presence. He connects with his audience immediately and engages with them throughout his performance.

About
Pianist/singer Luke Sandford grew up on Vancouver Island, Canada, where he studied classical music with Martha Reuter. He has played professionally in Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal, Barcelona, Berlin, London and New York, where he performed in the piano bars for many years. His debut recording, "Shimmer", was released in 2000, followed by "Echoes" in 2010. His more recent original releases, "Lukejazz" and "Lukerock", were recorded during lockdown in (phone number hidden)1 and feature contributions by leading session musicians from New York, London, Barcelona and Tel Aviv. Luke is known for his wide-ranging blend of pop, rock, jazz standards and show tunes. His music and videos are now available on YouTube, Spotify and other streaming services.
Additional Booking Notes
Luke primarily performs in venues equipped with a good-quality acoustic piano (upright or grand) or with a good-quality electronic keyboard (digital piano). For an additional fee, Luke can transport his own digital piano, microphone and PA system. There are no specific lighting, staging or sound requirements.

Luke's main Broadway influences include Stephen Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein and John Cameron Mitchell.
Luke's rock/pop influences include Elton John, Billy Joel, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel and all the main "classic rock" acts (The Who, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, etc.).
