Lyndol Descant has a gift for creating the right tone and ambiance thru her music; be it quiet and relaxed or up beat and fun. Using her sensitivity and experience, she'll customize the sets for her audience and for the moment, just like a DJ but with live music. She especially enjoys combining the elegance of traditional jazz with the joy of pop to create cool covers, and fresh originals.

Lyndol is a wonderful artist! We booked her for a French event (Bastille Day) and we couldn't be happier! She was extremely kind, responsive, and accommodating. We were in touch weeks before the event and she was willing to share her playlist and even learn new songs for us. She is very friendly and put a nice ambiance, our customers even sang and danced. I highly recommend Lyndol!

About
Lyndol Descant is a composer, singer and pianist with a unique and uplifting musical style reflecting her travels around the world. She merges jazz alto vocals with rock, and touches of folk. Her refined piano skills still express raw emotion, especially in her improvisation. Her compositions stand outside of any one genre, expressing her truth fearlessly.
Lyndol was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She studied classical piano and choral voice thru her teens. But she did not uncover her passion for the arts till she was in her early 20's. Inspired by her travels in France, exposure to live musical improvisation, and the 90's Austin culture 'keeping it weird', her creativity came bursting through in a variety of art forms.
Lyndol spent four years formally studying jazz piano and composition at the American School of Modern Music in Paris, France during which time she also privately studied voice with Keri Chryst of the Jazz Vocal Academy.
She has since been in active in the NYC music scene, calling Brooklyn here home base. She currently teaches private piano and voice lessons at the Brooklyn Conservatory, Performs solo and with her Trio at exclusive Private Events, as well as the coolest venues.
Additional Booking Notes
Lyndol Descant loves to play on real pianos but can bring her own gear when needed. She has a variety of outputs that can cater the sound to the room.
For very large events that don't provide a PA, she can provide one for a fee.
