When taking an Ore + Wool workshop, you can expect one-on-one instruction with the artist, learning different methods and techniques to the craft with all materials included, all while arriving with nothing and leaving with a work of fiber art! Tarah, creator of Ore + Wool, has adopted a passion for art and creating at a very young age. This passion has led to a life dedicated to art, but after decades of creative exploration through various mediums, Tarah now finds herself emerged in the fiber art world. As a soft sculpture artist, inspiration is pulled from the ethereal experiences acquired by spending time in nature and a heart fascinated by motherhood and birth giving. Through these muses, an ever evolving style takes place in the body of work. When spending time away from the studio, you can find Tarah offering workshops on weaving and macrame (for five years and counting!) in the DMV area, tending to the chickens and garden, or getting in a good hike by a river with the family.

Workshop Options:

• Air Plant Home - $35 per person
Learn how to make a modern, cozy home for your new air plant using 5 inch weaving hoop, merino wool roving, and a unique weaving technique. Each participant will leave the workshop with newly gained knowledge on air plants, a greater understand of wool roving and a completed air plant home, ready for hanging.

• Dreamweaving Workshop - $45 per person
Get creative with color and fiber to create your own one-of-a-kind dream weaving. Think dreamcatcher meets weaving, to create this modern boho twist of wall art decor. Each participant will receive two hoops, various options of yarn, and various option of wool roving to complete their wall hanging.

• Intro to Macrame Workshop - $75
Learn how to master 2-3 macrame knots in order to create a classic yet modern macrame design to hang on the walls of your home! In this workshop you will use cotton cord and a wooden dowel to complete your very own medium-sized wall hanging.

• Macro-Macrame Workshop - $160
Get excited over large pieces of art and have a willingness to tackle a good challenge? This is your workshop! Using a wooden dowel and numerous feet of wool roving, create a large macrame wall hanging using 2-3 macrame knots.
