About Magician Phillip Anthony
I discovered magic at the age of nine when I found this magician’s kit and beg my dad to buy if for me. Being the smart kid that I was and loving to read, I pick up on the tricks pretty quickly. I began performing for my family who encouraged me to keep practicing! But at the time, Magic was just a cool hobby. My love was science. I remember creating barometers from hair and building prisms. I had my own little lab filled with microscopes. I wanted to invent something that would help people…and then, what I now believe was FATE intervened and I serious hurt my arm in an old-fashioned washer and had to be taken to the hospital. That trip landed me in bed beside a little boy who had eaten sand paper and damaged his stomach. He was very sad and in a lot of pain and my mom had brought me my Magic kit to play with. I was practicing my Magic, and heard WOW from the next bed. That was the MOMENT, the joy and amazement on his face...he was laughing, clapping and having a great time watching me perform Magic! For a short time he forgot about is problems and he was happy. That is why I became a Magician. I could help people by bringing them joy with Magic. Now, I write, direct, produce, build and perform original illusions and classic magic with the purpose of making people happy.
My Audience
My Audience is anyone who wants to be entertained. With originality, I create performances that is fun for ALL AGES. My goal is to amaze my audience and make them believe in the impossible! Magic has no boundaries— it is a REALM of fantasy and mystery. I want to introduce MAGIC to the world... AND MAKE THEM BELIEVE!
The Show
In 2010 under I created and produced Strange MAGIC. This would be the first of an ongoing series of theatrical productions that blend stage illusions, music, set design and special effects performed at the Woodruff Arts Centre, 14th Street Playhouse on the main stage. My magic show is amazing, bizarre, innovative, fascinating, fun, and mysterious!. With the use of costumes, special lighting, beautiful effects and popular music coupled with fantastic stage illusions and choreographed performances, I strive to create a production that is more like watching a theatrical play and offers a unique experience for my audience In 2011– 2014, Strange MAGIC, followed by ...Returns,... the Journey Continues and ...the Blade of Death followed. I am now working on the fourth show, Strange MAGIC-Twisted Carnival for October 2016. This show is the most ambitious of the Strange Magic series that will explore my vision of a bizarre carnival with thrilling Magical twist. It will host characters not seen in your typical Magic show!

I want to continue to grow, learn and be the best I can be!
I am a member of IBM and SAM organizations
Most of my show is performed to music and if I am performing illusions, I need a minimum space of 10 x 10 feet. I will bring back drops, and set designs for my performance. I will need electrical outlets for music, fog machines etc. depending on the event, I will need audio needs for your techs.
I require a walk through of the performance area at least 7days prior to the event so we can map out load in access points and review the performance area. for illusion show I need a load in close to performance area.
I am pretty flexible-- my ability to customize my show allows a lot of options for staging.
