Magnetic Horse plays classic rock covers and original music. Here's a little about the bandmembers.
Vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Jon Randel started playing guitar and harmonica at age 13, added keyboards soon after, and has been singing ever since he learned to talk. He lived in New York City for many years, where he sang and played in Pookie, Low Media High, Spot The Cat, and Psycle, as well as Monolith in the Albany NY area and Blues Without Borders in Vermont.
Lead guitarist Joe Musolino began playing guitar at 14 and studied at the Berklee College of Music. He and Jon played together in the bands Monolith, Auracle, and Banquo’s Ghost, as well in the annual Monolith Summer/Autumn Jams in New York’s Capital District for over a decade. Confusingly ambidextrous in music, sports, and other activities, Joe is largely mixed-handed, throwing a baseball with his left hand while writing with his right (though seldom simultaneously) and is a switch hitter at the plate. Fortunately, he plays guitar right-handed. In addition to having a talent for choosing the perfect part to play in a given song, he alone knows which of his many guitars will sound best in it.
Born in Los Angeles, bass player/vocalist Don Monroe attended high school in Oklahoma and has lived in the northeast for all of his adult life. Over the last 15 years, he sang and played bass with Five Cent Philosophers in New Jersey and Count Backwards, Glass City Rockers, and Happy Dance in Massachusetts. He also sang and played guitar as a solo performer and as part of an acoustic duo in the Boston area. After spending vacations in Vermont for more than 20 years, he moved to Middlebury full-time in 2023 and is happy to now officially be a Vermont flatlander.
Drummer Corey Many is a native of the Green Mountain State and played in such well-known Vermont bands as Toast and Crazyhearse. His solid backbeat keeps the band tight and the audience moving.
