You made my family feel peace and I know our father is looking down at us from heaven smiling .
I needed a singer for my aunt’s funeral and I found that and more in Makeda. She worked with me as I created the funeral program, even suggesting songs to fit the occasion. We needed a performer that could sing in either French or Haitian-Creole. Makeda sings in multiple languages, including French. When I asked if she was able to do a medley of two songs, she obliged and made her own arrangement. The day of, she came early. She had her own musical accompaniment. Not only did she sing the four songs requested but she joined in with the Pastor on another one. She didn’t know the words but she quickly caught on and added background vocals. By far, the highlight was when she did a medley of “Time to Say Goodbye” and “Ave Maria.” She introduced herself in French, gave condolences to my family and then suggested that people close their eyes to feel the song if they wanted. It was a beautiful moment and several people cried out during the Ave Maria. She was soft spoken but then came with a powerhouse voice. Makeda truly exceeded my expectations and added a special touch to a somber occasion, allowing us to truly honor my great-aunt. Should you hire her for your event, you will not be disappointed.
I contacted Makeda after reading her biography and felt that she was the perfect person for my Holiday Gathering.
She returned all calls/texts in a timely fashion, collaborated with me on the children sing-a-longs and the adult musical game selections, just to mention a few.
Makeda has an upbeat personality, is flexible, organized and beautifully sings a wide range of music. In addition, she arrives in professional attire.

Makeda is an amazing singer and also super sweet and personable. Our guests were all commenting on her wonderful talent at our wedding and how much they enjoyed talking with her also.
Makeda worked with us on a song list, printed and brought with her the list of the songs she's be singing and put it on our table, which was super thoughtful and a great memento. She even themed her dress to our event!
She is kind, communicative, amazingly talented and we were so happy to have her there. I would 100% recommend her and am so happy with our decision to have her sing at our reception!

I seen Makeda perform at different venues.Makeda has been amazing performer. However her senior recital she pull out all stops high notes, breath control, great timbre, and vocal expertise.Makeda singing opera put me in a nostalgic sentiment.Makeda singing engages me and capture my attention. Makeda’s Senior Recital was really stunning, both technically and musically. As her pianist, I had a great time to work with her in her senior year. Her voice is so deep and soulful, so if you are looking for a gospel/R&B singer, she is the one! I would love to work with her on another project! Unfortunately, I can't work with her in person because she lives in New York now. She sang for my gig held in the LA area and had a bunch of compliments about her incredible voice from the audience. When she sang A Song For You by Donny Hathaway, she blew my mind. In addition, her voice sounded like she was classically trained as well, so it was a plus!

It was a beautiful day on July 4th,2020.A year that made it hard to celebrate July 4 due to the pandemic and all the tensions that were going on in our country but as Makeda performed ,we all were amazed with her voice.Left in awe with her singing ability.It was a voice of hope not just in its power and beauty but also in its message.Even the Grammy awards didn’t compare.One thing I know Forsure is that this was one of the most beautiful vocal performances I have ever heard.

If you'd prefer that I chose the songs for your event, you can give me an idea of which genre and I will create a set list for your occasion.
My repertoire consists of Pop, R&B, Jazz, Broadway, Opera, and even a little bit of Country, so if you have a request or a favorite song, go for it! I LOVE to entertain and interact with my audience!

Makeda Rose began singing at the age of three; singing several genres of music including Broadway, R&B, Jazz and Pop. By the age of eleven, Rose had transitioned into the wonderful world of Opera music under the direction of the Baltimore Modell Lyric Opera House where she was trained in opera, theatre, and dance. Simultaneously, Rose began writing original songs at age fifteen. To date, Rose has written over 75 professional Pop/R&B songs & has 13 years professional training in Opera & Theatre.
Rose accredits her passion for Culture and her Language skills in Italian, French, German, Korean, & Ukrainian to her operatic background and her Jamaican American roots. Her love of music goes beyond vocal having trained in Piano, Guitar, and Flute.
Makeda Rose is known for her velvet tone, musical versatility, and ability to sing music from Vocal Divas such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald, Celine Dion, Anita Baker, Amy Winehouse, Yolanda Adams, Beyonce, and more.
Rose's vocal range spans five octaves which she credits to her Opera and Jazz training.
Her profound emotional emphasis in each song, often brings audiences to tears.
A recent graduate, Makeda Rose earned her Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance and Operatic studies at Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles.
In August 2019, Makeda began professionally working for Norwegian Cruise Lines as a Principal singer/dancer in the Broadway sensation, “After Midnight”, working alongside famed singers/actresses: Melba Moore(Purlie), and Sharon Wilkins("I, Robot", "Maid in Manhattan").
Rose sang the role of Creole in which she astonished audiences with her passionate Creole Love Call.
Currently Makeda Rose is working on her first album, and continues to perform in TV/Film and Theatre.
