Malandros N' Motion, a samba dance group based in Los Angeles, CA. The group was founded and is directed by Ana Laidley, a master Samba teacher, who has an immense samba legacy, and who contributes to Brazilian culture in the U.S. by teaching dance and by choreographing works with Malandros N’Motion. The group was created by Ana, to diversify representations of Brazilian culture in the U.S., break some of the gender binaries and pressures of passista dancing, and to bring to the forefront of our Brazilian cultural imaginary, the character of the Malandro, who is an anti-hero, is playful, lives outside the law and dances amazing samba. The Malandro N' Motion
