Creative fulfillment and creating a unique and meaningful piece of sacred jewelry that tells your story are my mission with this party. I provide the materials, and you provide your creative spirit. Tapping into creativity's flow, you and your creative community of friends and loved ones will design either a 108 bead mala necklace, or story stones as I call them, or a shorter necklace and two bracelets that capture your current story and intentions. When you wear them, they will serve as talismans to guide you on your journey!
We had so much fun with Abby, from Art & Craft, for our Mala/Scared Beaded Jewelry party. Working with Jen to set up our event and time was super easy. Abby was our instructor and she was extremely sweet and fun! My group loved seeing all the beautiful beads, but also learning about the meaning of the beads. Abby was helpful and so easy to work with. A super fun and interactive craft to do with any group.
We all enjoyed making our beautiful Malas! Jen brought a great assortment of beads to choose from and made the process fun. Everyone raved they had a fabulous time.
Thank you!

I love hosting parties to teach others this art. The expressions on people's faces when they've finished their mala necklace is wind in my sails, and there is no better feeling than creating together. The community that is shared is icing on the cake. After finishing, so many students can't wait to create another one, or they tell me they're hooked! That is the best feedback I can receive.
Teaching has always been a part of my life. I taught choirs, I taught piano, and now I teach guitar and mala craft. I also work as a school psychologist, so I teach students in classrooms and small groups as well. It's an honor to be part of someone's growth, to be side by side with those on a creative and personal journey.
I blissfully create mala-inspired jewelry, relics, talismans, creating tools to inspire personal power, healing, joy, + attunement. I made my first mala or necklace on March 22, 2015, and since then I haven't been able to stop! Tying knots, designing, choosing colors, holding the beads, the entire process has consumed my being, and I find immense joy in every step. I believe in the power of jewelry with an intention: be it mindfulness, creativity, serenity, courage, hope, whatever intention you infuse into your mala, you're able to carry that power with you whenever you need it. And you get to choose what intention you charge into your beads. Over time, the more you use it, the more powerful it becomes, and the more peaceful, aware, and tuned in you become. And you can wear as a necklace or on your wrist! Beautiful and versatile!
Fast foward a few month later, and I'm selling on Etsy and hosting parties and teaching workshops. I create mala-inspired jewelry, relics, talismans, tools to inspire personal power, healing, joy, + attunement. I'm a one-woman owned small production entity. I have one table and a corner where I create. My 8 year old and 17 year old daughters help me knot sometimes, and I reluctantly hand it over because I love it so much.
Each piece I create made with some magic, pure unconditional love. My mantra is: I live in creative bliss. My Etsy shop is an extension of these beliefs and this obsession. My pieces are inspired by the ocean, vibrant colors, a mix of serene and wild, rustic, earthy, and sparkle, and the feel of the stones. I have a hard time making any of them symmetrical and other than counting to 108, I design by eye and feel. I get goosebumps or "truthbumps" when it's just right, then off to knotting I go!
Note that my necklaces or malas are hand-knotted, meaning after the beads are hand-strung, I tie a knot between the beads to strengthen the mala's integrity. When you buy from me, you support hand-made artisan jewelry. And for that, we as a community of artists and creators are grateful!
On a personal note, I'm also a mother of four wild young people, a school psychologist, a songwriter, a guitar teacher, and a dreamer. I'm a seeker, a creator, a believer in potential, a lover. I have a heart full of song and I open my heart to inspiration all the time.
If you're in the Denver-Metro area, email me (email hidden) for workshop dates! I also do traveling workshops, bridal shower mala creation parties, etc. Creating together multiplies the fun exponentially! Register for workshops on (link hidden) (link hidden)
About that mala: The word “mala” means "heavenly garland" or "necklace" and is often used for meditation or prayer, as well as for beauty. It is a tool intended for meditation, and typically you speak the name of a deity or affirmation while touching each bead. I love the idea of the mala, believing that when you use it for meditation or mindfulness, you carry those mantras and positive intentions with you.
Thank you for letting me share my art with you. I hope that every piece I create brings a bit more beauty and happiness into the world. Let the joy of adornment begin!
