Marc was very entertaining, we had an audience from ages 20- 92 and everyone one loved his performance. He was excellent with our audience getting them to interact with the show. We would all highly recommend Marc for his performance.

Mr. Kleen and his Crew at C&M Supply were wonderful to work with. When he learned that the local event center was already booked on the night of his event, he set up a stage, prime rib and shrimp dinner, and bar in his shop where there was plenty of space. We played a nice playlist of music during the wonderful dinner and after my show, then several of the guests came up to get a photo on stage with me and their favorite character. Small town Ag related company events are my favorite to perform for!
Marc did a fantastic job at our corporate event. He was very accommodating to our needs. He set up early in the day so not to disrupt our meeting time. He offered to play music during our dinner and even stayed over an hour after his show to play music for our guests as they visited and wound down. The whole room belly laughed during the show!!!... I have gotten ALL great feedback with one CSS even saying "This was the best entertainment we have ever had!" The standing O was well deserved. Thank you for a awesome night!

Marc had the group engaged and entertained from the first minute. The content was hilarious without being offensive at all, but still fun for adults. He's perfect for large groups with a range of ages and personalities. I've been to a lot for comedy shows but don't ever remember literally laughing from start to finish. On the business side, Marc was extremely professional to work with. He brought his own sound system, lights , music and props and again it was a highly professional set up. He was very personable and appreciative of working at our event. I would highly recommend Marc for any Corporate Event!

It was a real pleasure entertaining at this awards banquet. Corey made sure I had everything I needed and gave me the names of some people who would be fun to use in the show, then made sure they had seats close to the front. When the awards portion of the show had run a bit long and the audience were taking their time getting resettled in for the show, Mr. Popelka, gentleman that he is waited until everyone returned to their seats and were in attention before introducing my opening act. How could I not do well after being treated with such respect! Thank you for the opportunity to entertain your group Sir!

Marc was better than any ventriloquist that I've ever seen. He arrived early, had his own professional lighting and sound. He had music going when guests arrived and provided a very entertaining evening! A comment made by many, was that they loved how he involved many in the audience in his show and was awesome at improvisation throughout the evening! We were all laughing the entire show! Marc was also excellent with communication beforehand. Our Arts Foundation highly recommend Marc Rubben for an exciting, entertaining, and professional show! Well worth the money!

I booked Marc for a corporate end of year celebration. From start to finish, Marc was great to work with.
I contacted him via his website only several weeks out from the event date, and was able to accommodate us. Having never hired an entertainer for an event before, I wasn't sure what to expect.
He arrived early and entirely did his own set up, which turned out great, and also made things way easier for me. He had a playlist of holiday music playing before and after his performance which was a super nice touch. My group was a tough crowd, which was absolutely not Marcs fault, it's just how my group can be, but after the event I received many compliments on his performance. As I requested, Marc was just risque enough without crossing any lines, which I very much appreciated. The best part was definitely the human puppet masks, my group really enjoyed that!

Thank you for having me at your event Rick. I’m so glad that I pointed out to you that a stage is required for groups of 50 or more guests as stated under the heading “additional terms” in my GigSalad booking agreements. Your group of around 100 including internationals with English as a second language would have had difficulty seeing from the back of the room otherwise. It’s a shame that I didn’t also point out that it states that my introduction is to be done from the stage over the microphone. I know it doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it does make a difference and most likely not using the stage and the mic that I provided for my introduction caused the show to have a slower start than usual. I’m glad that I was still able to leave your associates In stitches and incorporate some custom material using the prop you provided, but in the future I suggest that you not wait until the day of the show to ask your entertainer to add custom material. Thank you again, and good luck with future events.

We were thrilled with the performance that Marc provided for our school fundraiser. We had a mixed crowd of older parishioners and younger couples and everyone had a great time. It's only in the last 3 years that we have hired professional entertainers for our office Christmas parties and it has been a great experience. This year Marc Rubben once again proved to us that hiring a pro - is the only way to go.
As soon as I found Marc via GigSalad he communicated quickly with me. He answered all my questions and asked me many, as well, in order to get a 'feel' for our group. I watched his YouTube videos and read the comments of his past clients - and that was enough for me. We hired him.
The day of our party we spoke in the morning and confirmed that everything was set. He was on the scene at the event center a few hours early in order to set-up his sound system and bring in his buddies, in order to test everything before our guests began to arrive. From that moment on it was clear sailing.
We did our own 'act' of giving out door prizes, we had dinner and then it was Marc's turn. Our employees had been told that we would be having a comedy act - but they were not told what type. When Marc came on stage the laughs began and never stopped. We were so fortunate to book this nice guy and his box full of very witty characters.

Marc knocked it out of the park at Van Beek Natural Science's corporate Holiday party in Orange City, IA. Dennis and his crew at Citizens Connected Telecommunications were very accommodating and provided a stage in the room they had secured for the event which after adding my back curtain, sound system, and lighting allowed me to give their small group the big show feel. Some of the crew wanted to do karaoke after the show, so I hosted it for them with my iPad on YouTube karaoke songs through my sound system. We all sang and danced for a couple more hours after the show. Many commented that it was their best annual event yet. Many thanks for raising the budget to meet my fee and proving once again that you really do get what you pay for!

I don’t understand why more corporate entertainers do not invest in good sound and lighting equipment and provide it for their shows, but it does at least make booking my show a very popular choice!

While up to that point Marc had the group laughing, the last part where our own audience members went up stage was simply hilarious. Ms. Giroux was not present at the event. Yes, I am quick to respond to questions and I expect for clients to follow the guidelines for set up that I provide. This was a large group of over 600 guests. I asked that Ms Giroux make sure that the tables be set up close to the stage with no dance floor in between. Apparently, all she did was pass my request on to the committee who disregarded it. The middle of December is the busiest week of the year for Corporate entertainers. I had to fly in the day of the show due to an engagement the previous night. I was horrified to see that in front of the stage a huge dance floor was set up placing the majority of the audience very far from the stage. It was too late to change the set up. I made the best of a very bad set up for a comedy show. Every single review that I have received that is less than 5 stars was for a show that my guidelines for set up were disregarded. Thankfully, they are few and far between. Please take note of this: Comedy Entertainers need the audience to be seated close to the front of the stage! A dance floor in front of the stage will affect the impact of the show. Even the CEO had trouble maintaining the attention of this group because of the space between the audience and the stage. Listen to the suggestions of your entertainer! We have done hundreds of shows and we know what works best and what will not work.
Marc performed for our Christmas work party which was filled with all ages, including a few small kids running around. He was very adaptable with the audience and even brought up one kiddo to the stage to participate which everyone loved. I have continued to hear great reviews from our guests in the past few weeks since the show. Even though there was a range of ages, his show proved to be very universal. He saved the best for last and had everyone in stitches. Thank you, Marc!

Yes, ventriloquist puppet characters are pretty much always stereotypical! :) The Redneck is a Redneck, the RastaMon is a typical Rasta, and The Hippy is a typical Hippy. That should be obvious from watching my video clip. I portray these characters in a positive way, so I have no Idea why anyone would have concern, but it’s a stretch to call MS. Reida of Hach professional since she completely disregarded my suggestions for the ideal setup of the stage in this room after telling me that she would take care of it. Because of this many of the guests had an obstructed side view of the stage. When I arrived 3 hours before guests were do to arrive and saw the set up I knew that it was going to make my job more difficult, but because I am very professional I did not complain and made the best of a bad set up and The show was still a huge success. I would not choose to do business with this company again though and I advise other entertainers to make sure that they plan to follow the guidelines of the staging needs of your show if you choose to do business with this Company.

I apologize that I was not able to deliver a 5 star performance from start to finish like I usually do Tabitha. I know that your audience was a bit slow to warm up to me. You were perfectly delightful to work with. In retrospect, having a 90 % male audience in a casino setting I think they would have enjoyed more of my nightclub act, but I certainly understand the need for a clean show with corporate clients and their guests. It also would have helped if the front table had been filled as my show is very interactive. It doesn't do much good to situate tables close to the stage if everyone chooses to sit further back. I know that wasn't your fault. Thank you very much for everything and I hope that I can help you with your entertainment needs in the future.

I had offered to do a family show and an adult only show for the same price for this group because they were initially looking for a longer show, but this client wanted to have the kids there the entire time and contracted with me to do a 45 minute family friendly show only. I did around 50 minutes. My family friendly show uses The Magic Drawing Board, The RastaMon, The Redneck, and both human puppet masks. The other characters are not appropriate for children. I'm sorry that you were not as thrilled as your audience was with the show. I'm not a kid show ventriloquist, but even the little ones seemed like they had a blast and I had a long line of people thanking me and picking up a free signed postcard or wanting to get a selfie photo with their favorite character which I was happy to accommodate.

We booked Marc Rubben for our Inaugural Gala at John Paul II Catholic School this past Saturday, January 07, 2017 near Hilton Head, SC. He served as our headliner of three performances and absolutely knocked it out of the park, performing laugh out loud comedy and ventriloquism throughout his show. Guests enjoyed his performance from beginning to end and were constantly laughing and participating when called upon. Even more so, Marc was an absolute professional who worked great with other performers and was a pleasure to communicate with through the booking and scheduling process. Even after Hurricane Matthew forced us to postpone our original scheduled date in October, Marc worked with us in order to get him rescheduled for our event and we were very fortunate to have him and his talent join us for a very fun evening. Let me start with the fact our personnel is hard to engage in activities...
I personally had a blast and the feedback I heard from co-workers was right in line. Marc was great at interacting with our group of approx. 400 people. As I mentioned our group doesn't tend to interact very easily and he had everyone laughing. At one point it was a dang good thing I had just swallow that drink I had taken, otherwise the person in front of me would have gotten a shower from me getting taken off guard. I was rolling. Loved the characters as well and heard a variety of different responses as to who enjoyed which character/s most.
On the business side: Marc was VERY easy to work with and we would have no problems working with him again. Professional and personable, two of the best qualities a person can bring to the table when it comes to these types of events. He was even able to come up with a tid bit of information about our company prior to the show and incorperated it. Thanks again Marc, the show was fantastic!!!

Marc appeared on the television show, "Accidentally Famous" which was filmed before a live audience at the HBO / Aspen Comedy Festival. He has also appeared on Comedy Central and Showtime. Marc began his entertainment career in theatre. In 2020 He was awarded Best Actor for his portrayal of Hank and Danny Boy in the short film “Silent Partner” and he just landed a staring role in the production show, “Now That’s Funny” which will begin touring in 2022.
Marc started his comedy career in Nashville, TN in the mid 80's and now spends most of his down time at his lake home on Norfork Lake near Mountain Home, AR.
Marc performed regularly as a fly-on entertainer for Carnival Cruise Lines performing his shows every other week in 1800 seat showrooms for 14 years. During that time he was ranked in the top 5% by the entertainment department. We attended the early show of Marc Rubben, and in just a few minutes he had everyone rolling in his/her seat! He is a very gifted ventriloquist who used four dummies (a cranky old man, a cool dude from Jamaica, a mid-eastern swami, and a redneck) in the course of his shows. Influences & Inspiration
Like Jeff Dunham Marc was inspired by Jimmy Nelson and Jay Johnson, but Marc's act is very original.
Setup Requirements
stage or riser of either 12'x8' or 6'x9' (minimum) is required for audiences larger that 50 guests.
set up and sound checks usually take from 2 to 3 hours, so please allow access to venue 3 hours before guests are do to arrive.
