Marc Stevens is a "no-nonsense" musician/vocalist who strives for excellence in his live performances while maintaining the highest standards of artistic expression of both cover and original material. In the studio, he is an astute interpreter of others' needs, being able to provide a myriad of styles on various instruments (e.g., 6 and 12-string guitars; electric and acoustic guitars; 4, 5, and 6-string bass; mandolin) to enhance the writer's vision of what his/her songs were intended to be.
Marc Stevens, currently residing in the greater Atlanta area, is an experienced musician, songwriter, arranger, producer, and vocalist who has been performing both live and in the studio for many years. While primarily an artist who writes, arranges, produces, and performs his own, original, copyright-secured compositions, Marc also has an array of cover material that is able to be called upon during his performances. Marc’s unique style has been described by others as a mixture of the acoustic side of Led Zeppelin, Heart, Jethro Tull, and Emerson, Lake, and Palmer, with overtones of Cat Stevens. His musical accomplishments include playing with/opening for national recording acts, as well as a headlining his own engagements in various live environments. Marc also has a myriad of studio experiences with his own material in addition to performing on other artists’ sessions as electric and acoustic guitarist, bassist, keyboardist, and arranger. Using a variety of acoustic-electric guitars, differing analogue and digital effects devices, and upper-end sound reinforcement equipment, Marc is able to handle the demands of almost any venue.
Given that he possesses a large collection of instruments and PA equipment, Marc is able to perform equally comfortably in small venues and large halls. The amount of equipment brought is matched to the size and space of the venue and staging area, the audience size and demographics, the level of volume required, and the length of the performance.
This depends on the venue. Some venues require mostly cover material, whereas others allow original songs. Certainly, I can do covers from a variety of artists (e.g., Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens, Dan Fogelberg, Neil Young, Steven Stills, acoustic Led Zeppelin, acoustic Jethro Tull, Jimmy Buffet, Eagles, Beatles, acoustic ELP, Joni Mitchell) although I strongly prefer to perform originals.
Cat Stevens; Dan Fogelberg; John Fogerty; Al Di Meola; Joni Mitchell; Howlin' Wolf; BB King; Muddy Waters; Jimi Hendrix; CSN; Traffic; ELP; Blind Faith; Heart; Beatles; Led Zeppelin; Jethro Tull; Cream; Rush; Mountain; Blackmore's Night
This is discussed at the time of the engagement, and depends on factors already addressed in the Technical Information area. Interested parties are asked to review that section or contact Marc for added information.
