Maria Rivadeneyra is a Mexican comedian based in Vancouver, Canada. From a young age, she dreamed of becoming a great actress but ultimately found her true passion in comedy. Since 2021, she has been performing stand-up in both English and Spanish, connecting with audiences through her unique approach and immigrant experience.
She is the creator and host of Comedy with an Accent, a show highlighting immigrant comedians, which has had many sold-out performances in Vancouver and received coverage in The Globe and Mail. Finalist in the "BC's Funniest Female" competition in 2021 and 2022, Maria has shared the stage with prominent comedians like Sofía Niño de Rivera and Led Varela, Stephan Dyer and Juan Cajiao.
Maria has been part of Carnaval del Sol in 2022 and 2024, as well as Victoria's Latin Fest, where she brought her energetic, relatable comedy to the stage. Her style combines intelligent observational and sarcastic humor with personal anecdotes and physical comedy, making her a fresh, exciting voice on stage, perfect for audiences at any comedy club or event. Maria is also well known for her crowd work that audience always enjoy.
She has performed in various locations across Canada and Mexico, expanding her reach and connecting with diverse audiences.
Additionally, Maria is the producer and host of Latin O'Clock, a Latin radio show in Vancouver that celebrates Latin culture and community through interviews, music, and comedy, creating a vibrant, welcoming space for her listeners.
With a solid background in acting and comedy training, including studies at Laughter Zone 101, The Second City, Blind Tiger Comedy, Malpensando and had take a masterclass with Adam Bloom.
