Monster Maker (Pre K to Grade 2)
Mark reads aloud his book, The Other Side of Hugless Hill and discusses how he created it. Working with the class, Mark draws a monster based on their ideas.

Shapes and Animals (Pre K to Grade 2)
Mark discusses how he creates picture books and shares a lesson on creating different animals from shapes.

Creating Cartoon Characters (Grade 3 and up)
In this interactive workshop, Mark discusses how comics are created. He shares tips and tricks with the class to create their own characters.

Let's Make Comics! (Grade 3 and up)
Guests will learn how comics are made and create a mini comic of their own!

Hosting Gameshow and Art Challenge Services:

Doodle! Scribble! Draw! (Gameshow for Grade 3 and up)
Artists from the crowd join two-person teams as they pit their scribbles against one another in a series of improvisational drawing quests. Do you have the courage to doodle silly things for a crowd? And will the crowd have the imagination to help the teams complete the quests and win the Doodle Scribble Draw championship belts?

Scribble Scramble (Partner drawing games for Grade 3 and up)
Guests will swap and share the page in these fun multi-artist drawing games. Everyone goes home with art they helped create!

Doodlepalooza (Jam drawing party games for Grade 3 and up)
For the lively party, Mark will have two large drawing pads and several crowd-friendly jam drawing challenges, including the fan favorite, music-fueled drawing quest, Groove Is In The Art.

Music and Art Performance (Pre K to Grade 2)
Make draws fun characters and performs songs for the crowd.

Arts and Crafts Services:

Superhero University
What does it take to be a superhero? Just a tablecloth, construction paper, crayons, markers, and a whole lot of imagination. Enter this workshop a kid, leave as a superhero! For additional price, Mark will draw all the kids as their superhero identity.

Paper Bag Puppet Pals
Standard paper bag + imagination = Paper Bag Puppet Pals. This workshop has the kids creating puppet characters from paper bags. They will learn how to craft the puppet and give it life and a voice.

Mark Mariano is a Harvey Award Nominated cartoonist from New Jersey. He's an Adventure Time cover artist, a contributor to Aw Yeah Comics!, The Sakai Project from Dark Horse, and Little Nemo: Dream Another Dream. His self-published work includes the family favorite The Other Side of Hugless Hill, the Moonbeam Award-Winning Flabbergast: Science Friction and the (link hidden) best-selling Happyloo: Flying Colors. As proud organizer of the traveling Kids Love Comics pavilion for several comic conventions, Mark assembles the roster of super-talented artists, and creates the programming. Being an advocate of comics in the classroom, he enjoys visiting schools and sharing his love of art and storytelling. Mark has been drawing since he was three, and loves reading comics and picture books, making music with The O>Matics, eating ice cream, and watching cartoons.

For larger crowds, a PA systems is preferred, if not available Mark can provide his own.
