Overview
Professional 5-String Banjo Player with extensive background in Bluegrass, Fiddle tunes, Jazz, Trad Irish, Cajun, and New Acoustic genres. Generally either a Duo, or full band, I primarily travel with multi-instrumentalist Chris Talley (the young lady in the photos) and we have tight, polished sets featuring the music noted above. We also specialize in weddings! We have literally done more than 100 weddings. She is a violinist and guitar player in our group, Raborn & Armstrong. We do lots of wedding-appropriate music and we gladly do 'special' music that you request. We're reasonably priced professional musicians that are easy to work with....and determined to amaze you and your guests!

Mark arrived shortly before performance time, and easily transitioned into performance mode. He played and sang for 45 minutes and chatted with the audience afterwards. We've had great feedback on his performance from the concert goers. Great musician!

I hosted a 60th reunion reception for 35 guests on a Sat. afternoon. Everyone was in a happy mood and Mark's versatility with two instrument and long and varied long list was appreciated. I'd like to have him return when there is only a group of a dozen or so, so we can just sit and appreciate the music. Thank you for recommending him.

I must say, I had my reservations on booking a band online, especially not knowing who I could potentially be dealing with. But, Mark and the Foggy Mountain Boys were AMAZING!! Very professional, easy going, and were a hit at our reception!! Everybody was asking where I found these guys. These guys hit it right on the head, what we were looking for. I would highly recommend Mark Raborn and The Foggy Mountain boys. The $$ was also the best I found. What more could you ask for? If I ever need to book a band again, hands down, this is who I'm calling. A big thanks to Mark and band for such a memoriable time. God bless Bluegrass!! :)

Began playing banjo in 1971. Performed with a number of traveling/professional groups. I also play acoustic guitar.

Nothing special in the way of sound equipment. Depending on the gig, I (we) sometimes plug-in, but we bring DI's, cords, etc.
