We hosted an anniversary party where Mark provided guitar and ukulele background music for almost two hours, then transitioned into our DJ for the rest of the evening. As you can tell from his videos, Mark's musical skills are spectacular, and our guests noticed Mark's contribution to event providing both fun and refinement with his playing! Mark worked with us on the details of our event, and he was supportive and collaborative throughout the planning, always prioritizing what we wanted without an ego. He rolled with the punches when we obnoxiously kept changing the floor plan layout on him.

On top of everything, Mark came to the rescue when the venue's audio system was unable to play some videos we wanted to show. He was more than happy to help us get the audio on his speakers, and this was just one example where Mark put our needs above what he was contractually obligated to do.

For the DJ set, we had made a number of requests, and Mark did a great job of weaving in the requests and managing the tempo. Mark's setup was simple and efficient with his laptop and speakers. There's not a big show of heavy equipment, turntables, and whatnot, but that wasn't what we were looking for.

Overall, Mark's ukulele and guitar playing was a treat for us and our guests, and our gig with Mark couldn't have gone more smoothly!

I sent him an email with my phone number inquiring about his services. He got back to me through text message within MINUTES of me emailing him. He sent me videos of him playing, a list of songs he plays regularly, the price he charges and all of the sites containing his reviews. We set the date and he asked what time we wanted him there.

Leading up:
Mark was very communicative and organized and confirmed ahead of time what songs we wanted played for processional, bridal entrance, exit, and cocktail hour. And then he was super flexible when we were indecisive and constantly changed our minds up until the last minute.

Day of:
Mark showed up on time, played everything perfectly, and many of our guests commented on how awesome he was and how refreshing yet elegant it was to have acoustic guitar playing at our wedding instead of violin or harp.

I found Mark through Gig Salad and hired him to play for a Corporate Event I was hosting at my house. The gathering of about 30 included both Mandarin and English speakers. I wanted to have classical music in the room, and I needed a musician who could adapt the sound level and repertoire to the occasion.

Mark is a perfect Five. As someone who has studied classical guitar in the past, his technique and execution is incredible: made me envious that I was never that good. I asked him to play a nice mix of classical and contemporary pieces which worked really well. As the group shifted from cocktail hour to dinner he shifted his position to follow the crowd. The comments flowed in from guests all evening long about how lovely it was to have such beautiful music. You can never get the same reaction from playing canned music from Pandora as it just lacks the richness and entertainment value of a live performer.

My husband and I wanted a classical guitarist to play the music for our wedding ceremony and during cocktail hour. We really got lucky when we found Mark! Mark was easy to communicate with, prompt, and respectful of all the "guidelines" of the venue. Mark's performance was fantastic! Some of my guests thought it was a CD! During cocktail hour, he took requests and my guests were impressed with how diverse his knowledge of music is! He could play anything! I would highly recommend him to anyone and for any event!
