Overview
Solo acoustic artist and singer of Stones tribute Rocks Off that offers plenty of entertainment bang for your buck. With a strong voice and solid guitar accompaniment, I deliver a wide range of songs in a dynamic and engaging way. This isn't the usual coffee house, laid back acoustic show; there's plenty of rock and roll and energy! That said, I have plenty of low key songs mixed in and can do a toned town show if that's what you are looking for. One of my strengths is the wide variety of artists that I cover. I also have extensive experience performing songs for marriage proposal events and ceremonies. Bottom line, I sing and play my heart out and thoroughly entertain people!

Mark was quick to respond and provide all details needed for me to make a selection. He was a great fit for our holiday party with a broad range of artists and genres. Mark was prompt and a great communicator. I’d definitely hire him again!

We were very lucky to have found Mark Taylor, not only did he learn two new songs for us, but he also provided us with a female singer as one of the songs required a duet.
Would recommend!
Mark was on time and very accommodating with the plan working with the Trump Hotel Events Manager and our photographer. This was a ~3 week plan for my proposal which was a simultaneous plan with photography and the music. I selected songs for us (which he learned) and Mark was on cue to walk up perfectly as I proposal. Could not have been any better.

Response from Mark Taylor:
Thanks for the great review! Happy to be a part of the special night . Have a great wedding and many years together
I hired Mark to perform at my recent wedding ceremony and I could not have been more pleased with his performance. He communicated with me from start to finish, was on-time, professional, learned the songs I requested him to play and they sounded beautiful. My friends and family complimented the performance and said how it tied the whole ceremony together. I would definitely recommend Mark in the future and would love to do business with him again!

Mark is super talented and we are happy to have hired him to perform at our client's marriage proposal. He was happy to learn a song that was not in his repertoire. He was professional, responsive, on-time, and did all he was asked to do. I will definitely be hiring him again.

What to Expect
With a Mark Taylor show, you will get a wide variety or artists and songs, performed with emotion and passion. I never phone in a show; I always give it my all. I love what I do and I think that comes through in my performances. I'm also very personable and can provide a little friendly banter between songs. My main goal is to entertain the crowd and give them what they want to hear whenever I can. I engage and energize the crowd with just my guitar and my voice. A Mark Taylor show never disappoints.
About
I'm a singer/songwriter and professional musician from the Chicagoland area. I am also the lead singer/Mick Jagger in Chicago's best Rolling Stones tribute: Rocks Off. I play over 200 shows a year. This is how I make my living, so I'm experienced and professional. I've been playing professionally for the last 10 years, and full time for the last 7. I have a very full sound for a solo acoustic artist; many people have said they can't believe I am only one person. I also regularly get compliments for my varied setlist. I have also been hired on many occasions to sing a song for marriage proposals downtown (the Bean, Buckingham Fountain) and am just the performer to deliver the perfect romantic song for your very special occasion.
Music is my passion and love and I perform passionately.
Some of the artists I cover: Adele, Alice N Chains, Animals, BB King, Beatles, Billy Joel, Black Keys, Bon Iver, Bob Seger, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Dylan, Ed Sheeran, Elliott Smith, Elton John, Elvis, Foo Fighters, George Michael, Gin Blossums, Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Hall and Oates, Incubus, John Denver, Johnny Cash, John Mayer, Justin Bieber, Kings of Leon, Lumineers, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Mumford and Sons, Neil Young, Nirvana, Otis Redding, Paul Simon, Pearl Jam, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Queen, Radiohead, Ray Lamontagne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Replacements, Rolling Stones, Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Van Morrison, Weezer, Who, and many more. I can also take requests to learn songs specifically for the job.
I have an original music, so I can sprinkle my own songs into the set if that is so desired.
I have a sound system that is included in my fee. I can cover a 4 hour period with 2 breaks, 3 hours with one break.
Additional Booking Notes
I perform almost all marriage proposals unamplified, natural acoustic. I have 2 1500 watt 12 inch speakers and PA mixer, which is adequate for my act. In smaller venues, I tend to only use 1 speaker. I also have LED lighting. All that is required is a power source.
