Marty Pollio is a versatile and hilarious comedian and variety act. His set includes fast paced, high energy physical comedy (choreographed to music) along with stand-up that is clean, funny and original. Marty's multiple appearances on the Tonight Show and recurring roles in popular network sitcoms top his list of national credits. He has also appeared in concert with the likes of Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock and B.B King. Marty has found a profound comfort level in being a corporate entertainer, performing for all sizes of company parties, events and awards banquets.
Wow, what a great show. We had a large age range, but everyone really loved it. His stand up was really funny by itself, but the variety with his magic and juggling made it above and beyond what we had anticipated. I would definitely recommend Marty.
Response from Marty Pollio:
Thanks Lisa. It was great meeting you and I had a really nice time performing for group. I also enjoyed talking to some of them after the show. What characters, lol. Thanks again. -Marty
We were disappointed with the performance. It was ok, but not really funny. He seemed very nervous prior to the show. With his credentials, we expected a more confident and polished performance.
Response from Marty Pollio:
I'm surprised to read this, I'm not used to bad reviews. Pre-show anxiety is typical among performers, even us seasoned ones. It also may be difficult to discern that energy with my onstage persona. I certainly wasn't nervous while performing.
The judgement of comedy is different than any other stage craft. When you leave a concert you may say, "That type of music wasn't my cup of tea," but the same experience with a comedy show would result in saying, "That comic wasn't funny." Some may prefer a less subtle form of humor than mine. My act has been carefully sculpted over years, it has great pacing and is very precise, so the word "unpolished" seems very inaccurate, and frankly, unfair.
Marty did a great job , the group he had top work with was a good challenge for him. Everyone enjoyed the show . I hear several people say that they liked him and that he was very funny . Thanks Marty for doing our event, I would recommend Marty to our other regions and to anyone who asked.
The event want great and Marty was a promo entertainer. His comedy routine encompassed the event purpose, he included the audience in his routine and he couldn't have been more engaging. He is truly a comic genius.
Response from Marty Pollio:
Such a nice group of people all together for a great cause. Thanks for having me.
Marty was amazing! We had a Christmas Party and he was the surprise entertainment. He puts on a great show full of clean humor. We laughed and had a wonderful time!
Price Range: $1000.-$4000.

Marty's multiple appearances on the Tonight Show and recurring roles in popular network sitcoms top his list of national credits. He has also appeared in concert with the likes of Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, B.B King, Robin Williams, Billy Crystal, Garry Shandling and Jonathan Winters.
Marty has been a favorite of corporate and club audiences mostly because of his wacky mix of stage crafts. His dead pan stand-up style has been described by one reviewer as "goofy, with spot-on timing and facial expressions." Marty's inept magician character is a laugh riot and his closing piece - juggling to a Latin dance tune - is a high energy, feel-good fiasco!
Marty Pollio started his professional career in 1977 as a juggler and classically trained mime. His stand-up style developed during the comedy boom of the 80's when clubs started popping up everywhere.
After moving to Los Angeles Marty was scouted by the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson that same year. Since then he performed with Johnny a second time and was on the show once with Jay Leno. Marty had a recurring role on the popular sitcom, Night Court, as well as various other acting roles on network shows. He was also one of the featured performers in the stage-spectacular Follies Bergere show at the Tropicana Resort in Las Vegas, and has appeared in large concert venues with the likes of Ray Charles, Herbie Hancock, B.B King and Robin Williams.
Primarily a stand-up comedian, Marty still incorporates much of the skill set that got him started ...namely, fast-paced physical comedy choreographed to music. His act is a mixed bag of tricks that appeals to a wide age-range of adults and leaves his audiences feeling like they have experienced a complete show.

It may seem strange that a musician would influence a comedian, but Marty attributes Carlos Santana to opening up his mind in a creative way. Steve Martin, Dick Van Dyke and the actor Micheal Gross also have influenced Marty's style.
