Her gift of song was revealed to her, early in life. She made her solo debut in a “Daughters of the King” concert at the tender age of seven. Since then, she has continuously served the Lord in music ministry with a variety of groups, choirs and praise teams. Presently, she actively ministering as a soloist for funerals, weddings, birthdays, special occasions, church services and programs.
For a few years prior to the onset of COVID-19 Marva contributed her talents, without compensation, to TAPESTRY Christian Storrytelling Alliance. Her solos were the highlight of these Christ-centered dramas. Simultaneously, Marva reflected the character of Christ by feeding and clothing those without food or suitable garments. As the longterm archivist for TAPESTRY, I have preserved much documentation of her selfless activity. I deeply regret that she is no longer a resident of Atlanta, GA. God will surely reward her for what she accomplished in the ATL.
Response from Marva M. Mortley:
Ahh thank you David Braswell. I was so glad to be part of the production. I miss every door and room of opportunity that I got to minister in the ATL -- yes Tapestry. Thank you for the high recommendation. Thank you for the fellowship to you, your wife, loved ones, especially Tapestry. Peace and blessings!
From the moment I contacted Marva to inquire about performing at my organization's virtual Holiday Gala, she was professional and kind. She offered quick responses to my questions and offered song suggestions that were perfect for our event. She arrived on time and treated our audience to a wonderful performance of two songs. Her voice is BEAUTIFUL! All of our guests raved about her performance. We enjoyed her gift of song and her warm and friendly personality. I highly recommend Marva and we at Hire Excellence Inc. (non-profit organization) look forward to working with her again.

My initial contact with Marva, during the booking process, was positive. We communicated through the website and discussed my request for my mother's funeral service, to include scheduled time for performance. Marva was to perform the first song within the first 15 minutes of the start of the service and then a second song 40 minutes later. All appeared to be well and no further communication was made until the day of the service when, at the start of the service, Marva was not present. She called and spoke to someone at the chapel approximately 10 minutes later, advising she went to the wrong location and would arrive in approximately 30 minutes; however, I'm not sure how that happened when the address is listed in the booking information. The funeral home staff was gracious enough to perform the first song and Marva arrived approximately 30 minutes later, but in time to perform the second song. Without finding out what songs, if any, were performed in her absence, she performed the same song that the funeral home staff had sung a short time prior. She, then, performed a second song. Because we were only allowed two songs due to time constraints, the second song that Marva sang (which was a total of 3 songs performed) took time from the eulogy, causing the officiant to rush through and further shorten the eulogy. Marva, however, did attend the burial service and performed a song, which was not expected. I appreciated that she attempted to make up for the time lost. I would have been more satisfied had she been on time and performed as expected.
Marva was so accommodating and professional. She has such an amazing voice. She stole the show with an acapella version of Swing lo sweet Chariot. I would hire her again!!!
Response from Marva M. Mortley:
Brandi and Brad,
Thank you so much for the opportunity to sing. I enjoy brightening up someone's day. May he live to see many more. Perhaps the next time I'll get to meet you Brandi.
Best regards,
Marva Mortley
