Mas Ishikawa, an experienced jazz guitarist in New York City, Tri-state area provides beautiful guitar music with exquisite ambience for any occasions. I add elegance, charm, character and energy to your special event! People call me "one-man band".
Available for private parties, cocktail hours, gallery openings, holiday parties etc.
Besides jazz standards, I take your request of any songs and play in jazz style.

Mas played at our garden party and we couldn't recommend him more highly. Played for about three hours with a bassist he organized. Complimented by many guests and really made the event.

Masami is an amazing guitar player! His music was absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed listening to his wide range of music from jazz standards to bebop, blues and some pop songs with jazz arrangements. Also the communication with him was very smooth. A real professional musician in many ways.

Masami was the best guitarist I have hired. He was responsible for our various genres of request songs and played so great for beautiful melodies & danceable music. Everyone who attended our party recognized their favorite songs and were happy with his live performance.
The venue was outside of the city area, although he arrived earlier to setup then always being attentive to work with us, then he set the mood.
We definitely hire him again for the future events. Highly recommended.

About
MASAMI ISHIKAWA JAZZ GUITARIST
Masami Ishikawa, a native of Tokyo, Japan, grew up with the sounds of Wes Montgomery and Jimi Hendrix.
He started to play the guitar at age 10. From 1991 to 1993, he went to New School University Jazz program and studied with Jim Hall. He has performed with Dr.Lonnie Smith, L.D. Frazier( a gospel singer/pianist), Lonnie Gasperini( a funk/blues organ player) etc.
"Ishikawa is a virtuoso guitarist. While the B3 trio is a powerful beast it can easily become repetive but Ishikawa doesn't let those tunes fall into that trap. His clean precise lines, speed and inventiveness that forces this music into surprising places is what takes this night to the next level" ( A review of Lonnie Gasperini's Northbeach Blues from All About Jazz, March 2008)
Currently, Masami is performing with his trio at the Antique Garage and the Blue Note regularly.
As a solo guitarist, he is playing at famous restaurants in New York City Leopard and IL Gattopardo.
