Whether booking Mason as a solo act or as band leader, audiences can expect a personable & professional, yet intimate experience. Mason loves connecting with his audience through heartfelt stories behind his songs, as well as engaging directly with them through jokes and clever banter. Mason has a laid-back, easy-going style that is easy to incorporate into any event, concert, or gathering. His spirit and professionalism, on and off stage, is second to none.
Mason Caviness hails from the dry flatlands of west Texas, but his music is anything but desolate. Drawing on experiences of pain, loss, redemption, and joy, Mason sees songwriting as therapy; a running tally of processing and reflecting, evolution and stillness.
In December 2022, Mason was named the Grand Prize Winner of American Songwriter Magazine's Annual Lyric Contest for his song "Long Line of Cars". That honor granted him the opportunity to co-write with rock recording artist Chris Daughtry, the result of which is Mason's single "Hoping for Better".
For bigger events I typically require sound equipment (audio consoles/mixers and speakers) to be provided by the venue or event. Where needed however, I can provide basic necessities.
Regardless of your technical situation, please don't hesitate to reach out. In very rare occasions will I let audio issues stop the show.
I am very flexible and can add in any song that's not on this list or take any out. This is just a handful of some of my favorites to give a good idea of what I can provide. I also play various original country/americana songs depending on the type of gig.
