We hired The Mason Dixon Band for International Ballroom Dance Studio’s Monster Ball. They were a hit! Great music, excellent song choices, good sound, & a playful energy that kept us on the dance floor all night long! They were easy to work with & exactly the band we were looking for at this event. Formed in the heart of the Lowcountry of South Carolina, in 2005, the Mason Dixon Band is a powerhouse country music and southern rock band that has captured the essence of the genre while putting their own modern twist on it. Comprising six talented musicians with a deep passion for performing in front of live audiences and a genuine love for country music and southern rock, the band has become a staple in both local honky-tonks and global stages.
The founding members, lead vocalist Roddy Akers, bassist and backup vocalist Jerry Ray, keyboardist and harmony singer Jon Padlin, drummer Timmy Feltner come together with Brian Carmack, harmonica, and guitarist Wayne Dawes with a shared dream of bringing country and southern rock sounds to the fans of the genre. They draw inspiration from legends like Johnny Cash, Travis Tritt, Lynard Skynyrd, Allen Jackson, Marshall Tucker, Luke Bryan, and other classic artists to set out to create music that resonates with both traditionalists and contemporary listeners.
Their debut single, "Southern Gentleman," released in 2024, has been met with critical acclaim, showcasing their ability to blend heartfelt lyrics with foot-stomping melodies. Their next single, "Nobody Parties Like Country Boys Do," will quickly became a national anthem for the hard-working blue-collar worker, earning them a dedicated fan base. The Mason Dixon Band sound and stage performances draw on the notable influences of great artists like Luke Combs, Cole Swindell, The Marshall Tucker Band, Lynard Skynard, Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Toby Keith, and many, many others.
Original songs written are a culmination of the southern way of life, simple, hard-working, heritage and culture of the south. With the help of some influential musicians such as Tim Lawter, Rusty Milner, and Ronald Radford, former musicians with The Marshall Tucker Band, our originals blend the heart and soul of classic country and southern rock to the forefront of musical enthusiast.
Setup Requirements
Basic stage platform or performance area must not be less than 15ft deep by 20 ft wide.
Venue must be available for load-in and set up two hours prior to the scheduled performance.
Venue must be available for load-out and tear down at least 90 minutes after the performance concludes.
Sound and lighting equipment provided by the venue must meet the bands requirements negotiated at the time of booking.
The band can provide sound and lighting equipment for an additional charge.
