Hi, I'm Matt. Based in Chicago, I have a Bachelors Degree in photography and several years of diverse experience. I am friendly, calm, and professional and I will photograph your wedding, event, portrait, or anything else, with skill and a smile.
Be it expertly using studio lights or making even the harshest sunlight look great, from applying your makeup to your friends getting wild on the dance floor, I make it look good. Having shot weddings on my own as well as with an award-winning studio in Chicago, I also have maintained my own practice of portraiture, landscape, and still-life photography. My wife and I used Matt for our wedding in October 2015, and we were both unbelievably happy with the results. We have many of the photos hanging around our house and still receive compliments on the creative and inspired shots he provided for us. Not only were the pictures amazing, but working with Matt was a breeze as well. He was very responsive and accommodating before the wedding, and during the event he really didn't need any direction from us. He knew where, when, and how to set up for all the important shots of the night, and that really put my wife and me at ease. It was very nice to know that he was attentive and thoughtful. Some of our most favorite pictures from the night are the action shots he took while in the middle of the dance floor; Matt has a really keen eye for catching quick, special moments.
I really can't say anything bad about our experience! We both highly recommend his services. My best friend used him for their wedding after we explained to them how happy we were after ours. Matt's the best!
Matt struck a perfect balance between giving us the freedom and direction we needed. He always seemed to be on-hand and ready with photo ideas, but never overbearing. We love the beautiful shots he got and it was very affordable. Highly recommended!
Matt did an amazing job taking beautifully composed pictures, and catching important moments at my wedding. He knew how to capture the "vintage" look that I was hoping for, and I am very pleased with the end result. We had a rather large wedding party, and Matt did an excellent job wrangling everyone in, (not an easy task) while dealing with the crazy lighting during that day. He did a great job. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I am a positive, friendly, and level-headed professional. For your wedding or event, I'll cover your portraits, ceremony, group-shots at tables, preparations, still-lives, and people getting wild on the dance floor with the same skill. I'm skilled with natural light, flash, or a combination of the two.
I typically provide couples with disc (or more commonly these days, a computer file) of high-resolution images edited by myself, and a few archival inkjet prints. Additional prints can be purchased at additional cost or you are welcome to print from the files I give you! I also shoot portraits and head-shots.
Born and raised in Rockford, Illinois, I have been a Chicago resident now for close to a decade. In addition to my photography, I am a long time drummer, biking enthusiast, runner, cat-dad, movie lover, and boyfriend to a wonderful woman.
