My fiance and I asked Matt to play guitar for our beach wedding last weekend, and we are super pleased with his gig with us. Matt was amendable in every aspect of the preparations for the gig, showed up early (despite horrible traffic that day), and played just as expected. He's a warm, approachable guy, and fit in perfectly with our warm, friendly crowd. We're moving to NYC in a week, but we'll definitely look up Matt if we're back in the Bay Area and on the hunt for a great musician. Bravo, Matt!

It's been five months since the wedding and I just ran into a friend who was there. He was more interested in the music than anything else.

The prelude was 19 minutes. The ceremony lasted 16 minutes. Matt played exactly what the bride & groom asked of him. His guitar music was calm, soothing and classical.

I booked Matthew to play for the memorial service of a friend's father, as his favorite music had been classical guitar and he'd especially enjoyed Segovia. He arrived early, set up quickly, and did a masterful job with Leyenda. My friend was relieved, prior to the service, at how smoothly the arrangements were made. And her mother continues to talk about how much she appreciates Matthew's contribution to the service.

Matt's unassuming, professional presence at a wedding where I recently officiated was a great gift for the whole experience. His playing is superb, he is appropriately sensitive to the needs of the venue, and he brings a kind regard for his audience.

I contacted Matt via email regarding the possibility of playing at our son's wedding. He responded promptly and contacted the bride in order to arrange the proper music. We would recommend Matt for any venue even though we were not able to use him. We definitely would hire him in the future.

Matthew and his beautiful associate created a magical environment, fraught with anticipation and underlying tones of joy, and all under the canopy of an ancient redwood forest in Central California. Their hauntingly beautiful sounds filled our ears and hearts with just the right tenor and announced to all present, just how amazing this moment was going to be! I would work with Matthew in a heartbeat and I hope I get the opportunity to do so yet again!

Matt played Guitar for our ceremony and cocktail hour and was fabulous. He worked with us and was very understanding in the crazy lead up to the wedding to make sure we were happy with the song selection and made some great recommendations. He was responsive and helpful. For the ceremony, he arrived in plenty of time and introduced himself to me the groom, we sadly didn’t get much of a chance to continue to listen to Matt play during the cocktail hour but our guests really enjoyed his music. Matthew Bacon was hired on at Elliston Vineyards to play acoustic guitar for a wedding ceremony and throughout cocktail hour. Matthew was very prompt and easy to work with. After chatting for a few minutes I found out that this was his first time playing at Elliston! However you never would have known since he found his way around seamlessly. My wife and I hired Matt to play classical guitar at our wedding, and it was a genuine pleasure working with him. From the first meeting we could tell he was not only professional, but very passionate and enthusiastic about guitar and music as well. Matt's repertoire spans much more than classical guitar, including Latin guitar, rock, blues, folk; you name it. Being an amateur guitarist myself, we hit it off right away as he helped to put together a diverse musical selection for each segment of our wedding. He was very willing to entertain any ideas we had, and to arrange it on classical guitar. It was also good to hear his honest suggestions based on his past experiences at weddings and other events. I asked him to throw in some Led Zeppelin and even a few oldies in the mix.

On the day-of, he arrived early to scope out the venue, set up, and then proceeded to wow our guests. He even had a group of guests singing along during one of his guitar renditions. Throughout the evening, it was clear that he was also having a great time, which made it all the more satisfying to listen to his amazing guitar. We were absolutely thrilled to hire Matt, and can't recommend him enough!

We had an excellent experience with Matt and would recommend him without reservation. He was personable, communicative and efficient through the entire process, and great to work with. He came early and was gracious and flexible with our situation (we were in a state of controlled chaos at our charity fundraiser!). After working with Matt at a previous event with a colleague I didn't hesitate to reach out to him again as I knew his Spanish guitar style would fit the feel we were going for. We recently hired Matt to play at our wedding in Shakespeare's Garden of Golden Gate Park and he was absolutely wonderful!! From the very first email, Matt was professional, friendly, and easy going. He was very prompt in returning any emails or phone calls and followed through on what he said he was going to do. In the weeks and days leading up to my wedding, Matt would email me and ask me if everything was going ok or if I had any questions. We gave him total freedom with music choices except for the processional and the exit song and he played everything perfectly. He told us that he really like Shakespeare's garden and it showed in the tone he set with his music. I asked our guests what they thought of Matt and everyone said they loved him!! One guest said he's never felt so relaxed in San Francisco before!!! Matt showed up before his schedule time and play the entire hour I asked until most of the guests were gone. I couldn't of asked for better service from Matt and I would absolutely hire him again. If you don't want to stress about the music for your wedding ceremony, then hire Matt, you won't regret it!

Matt played for my outdoor wedding ceremony in October, providing both background music for a cocktail reception and also solo music during the ceremony. As a professional musician myself, I was extremely satisfied with his overall performance and willingness to help me pick exactly the kind of music I wanted. Based on the rather general descriptions of what I asked of him, he managed to pick exactly the right types of pieces to make the event just how I wanted it. I saw Matthew Bacon play at a private party during the holidays. His performance was truly outstanding. He really draws you in to the emotion of the music. While his specialty seemed to be Latin influenced music, he also entertained with Beatles and other standards. He was a wonderful entertainer and very professional.
