Max Cobb is a finger-style guitarist and singer from Seattle, WA. Playing piano in his formative years, Max picked up the guitar at age 12; learning through formal instruction and playing along with his favorite albums, he later went on to study classical and jazz guitar at Gonzaga University. Max offers the following services: classical guitar wedding ceremony music, singing and guitar playing for wedding receptions/cocktail hour, background instrumental guitar, or singing & guitar at corporate events, wine tastings, bars, restaurants, and similar events.
Max's performance at our wedding was simply spectacular. From the moment he began playing the Studio Ghibli song for my walk down the aisle, his music created an atmosphere of pure magic. When my sister joined him to sing, it added an extra layer of beauty to the moment. Max's talent is undeniable, and his music truly touched our hearts. Working with him was a breeze, and his professionalism made everything smooth sailing. We couldn't have asked for a better musician to be a part of our special day. Thank you, Max, for making it absolutely perfect!
Max added the professional finishing touch that we needed to our vendor appreciation event! Several people commented through out the night, “Where did you find this guy, he is really good?”
We had approximately 40 people at our house party and Max was hired to play for 2 hours. He was absolutely amazing. Got to the venue before the event and set up, played everything from chill cocktail jazz to fun music to dance to. He played mellow enough for the crowd to talk/eat and energetic enough for everyone to get up and dance. Max has a good feel for the crowd and knows exactly what to play at what time. For example, we impromptu started singing Happy Birthday and he chimed in perfectly on his guitar. I cannot recommend Max enough. Not only was he extremely easy to work with and quick to reply, he is so talented and can play a variety of music that everyone can enjoy. Max is truly a hidden Gem and we plan on hiring him for many future events. Our experience with Max was exceptional!
I hired Max to play during my proposal to my girlfriend and he was awesome! He was helpful in the planning process and was ready to go when we arrived at the venue. He plays the guitar beautifully and sang our favorite song perfectly! His music was the icing on the cake of a wonderful evening! I would highly recommend Max for your event.

I regularly play up to 5 hours of instrumental acoustic or electric guitar, styles ranging from classical, flamenco, movie/tv soundtrack, classic rock, soul/r&b, country, oldies, pop, jazz standards (40's and 50's pop), and blues. I can learn anything by ear, and take custom song/setlist requests for wedding ceremonies, receptions, corporate event cocktail hours, and private events like birthday parties and anniversaries. I don't often take breaks, but for a 4 hour event, ask that I could take a 5-10 minute break each hour.
I love the challenge of learning new music, and have a repertoire of over 300 songs that I practice and play live. I can also offer up to 3 hours of singing with my guitar playing, and use a live looping machine that allows me to add drums, bass, vocal harmonies, or ukulele - I use this for dance parties and can play a one man show if clients want more upbeat music to dance to.
Max Cobb is a finger-style guitarist and singer from Seattle, WA. Playing piano in his formative years, Max picked up the guitar at age 12; learning through formal instruction and playing along with his favorite albums, he later went on to study classical and jazz guitar at Gonzaga University, where he joined an Americans/fold band, 'The Scenic Roots', and a funk/soul band, 'B-Bo and the Zig Zags'. Max played professionally after graduating college in Western Washington, playing weddings, wine tastings, bars, restaurants, and corporate events, and formed a blues-rock/funk band, 'The Willows'. After gaining multiple years of experience in Western Washington, Max decided to move to Austin, TX, where he now resides, to further pursue his music career and continue playing in new settings, picking up new instruments (bass, violin, ukulele, and drums) along the way.
An electrical outlet is all I need to perform. If you can provide a chair or stool without arms, it's much appreciated, I can make arrangements to bring my own if that's not possible, though. Weather conditions like rain and wind are not ideal, mainly for protecting my equipment and instruments, but I know that's out of the client's power. I don't take up much space at all, just about a 4'x4' space for my amplifier, mic stand if needed, and myself to sit.
