This crowd-pleasing Philadelphia-based comedy band is a folk-rock-do-wap-a-cappella-ragtime-sing-a-long good time fronted by awkwardly-adorable comedienne and vocalist Wendy Lenhart. She is accompanied, as always, by her faithful Man Band, a talented and handsome bunch of musicians/sketch comedians who can rock any genre. Mean Wendy Band writes the type of original comedy that make audiences laugh self-consciously yet entertain while cutting to the bone. In October of 2016, they released an 8-song album, available for digital download on most platforms. Their songs cause gasping, chuckles and demand, at times,(more gasping!) audience participation.
This band has very talented musicians. Their music is original and very tuneful with lots of musical texture. Since this is a comedy band, there is also plenty of adult humor. Definitely a good time!
Mean Wendy Band is flat out amazing. I've had them here at The PIT (NYC) two years in a row for NYC Sketch Fest, and have had nothing but good times with them. Insanely easy to work with and they put on an exceptional show. Hire them. You won't be sorry.
I have booked the Mean Wendy Band several times over the two and a half years I have been producing this show because they bring such a great energy to the night. They're all super sweet to talk to, their songs are hilarious and the audience is always responsive to them.
