Melita's Musical Magic

Melita's birthday party events are endearing, engaging, interactive and lots of fun. She always brings her guitar, as well as puppets, story boards, colorful scarves to dance with and kid-sized instruments to hand out.
The show includes songs that invite participation from the kids, and will also get them up and dancing.

Melita has worked as a specialist for young children for almost twenty years in various capacities. She currently teaches classes for young children in venues such as schools, libraries, places of worship, and play spaces. Melita holds a degree in eco-psychology as well as in early childhood development. She has also received training in an array of modalities for children including Music Together, Waldorf, Orff Shulwerk and Yoga for kids. Melita is a founding member of two popular children’s bands, Octopretzel and Kid Kaleidoscope, and has performed all over the country for children and families at events, festivals and music venues.

She has released nine albums specifically for children, and earned a Parents’ Choice Award for the developmentally appropriate content and inspiring messages in her albums in both 2016 and 2018.

Melita is available for birthday parties as well as public and private events, both as a solo act or with band members – which include a puppeteer/percussionist, a mandolin/fiddle player, as well as other instrumentalists.

With her guitar, fun songs, puppets, scarves to dance with, and instruments for the kids to play, she will engage the children and guarantee that your event will be lots of fun!

Party performances typically run about 40 minutes, or possibly longer with additional band members. Please email directly for prices, as there are variations in the fee depending on distance, number of musicians and length of time playing.

Melita can bring her own microphone and amplifier if needed.
