As a guitarist, I have a diverse and eclectic style influenced by some of the greatest musicians. I can seamlessly blend the rich, world-music rhythms of Paul Simon's "Rhythms of Saints" and "Graceland" albums with the smooth, soulful melodies of Eric Clapton's "Change The World." I also bring the poignant, intricate fingerpicking and harmonics of Sting's "Fragile," and the emotive, expressive soloing of Carlos Santana. Additionally, my repertoire includes the vibrant, jazzy grooves of Jonathan Butler's "Dancing on the Shore" and the infectious rhythms of "Pata Pata." My playing is characterized by a fusion of rhythmic complexity, melodic richness, and emotional depth.
I have played with Guillaume in several ad-hoc situations and in a trio for several years. He brings an extremely high musician's IQ to the table, properly understanding complex rhythms, and understanding that the notes you don't play are just as important as the ones you do. His innate understanding of harmony and how to put together arrangements that cater to the strengths of the musicians and the audience is both impressive and rare in my experience. I have added a date for one of our performances, but we have had many together.
